One crowd was given a special treat when members of the Little Singers of Armenia performed “Edelweiss” during a concert in Japan.

In the video, nearly 40 girls can be seen on stage in matching dresses, stockings, and shoes. They’re being led by Tigran Hekekyan, who’s both the conductor and artistic director.

At first, only a piano can be heard while the vocalists gently sway. But once they begin to sing – it’s evident they compare to a choir of angels.

“Edelweiss” comes from the unforgettable classic, The Sound of Music.

Rodgers and Hammerstein created the tune for their 1959 Broadway musical, and it was given to the father character, Captain von Trapp. During the film adaptation of The Sound of Music, von Trapp memorably sings it in front of his children (and others) while strumming his acoustic guitar.

The choir of girls beautifully harmonize as they perform their rendition of “Edelweiss.”

In the beginning, their voices have a softer, peaceful tone. Together they sing the lyrics:

“Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white, clean and bright
You look happy to meet me.”

As the performance goes on, the choir members’ voices become more powerful and fill the concert hall.

The lyrics continue:

“Blossom of snow, may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, Edelweiss
Bless my homeland forever.”
