While caring for his father, Edward Jr. was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

Any person would be devastated after knowing this unfortunate turn of events, but the man kept his responsibility and did not stop looking after his elderly Dad.

Edward Jr. was a psychology student at Oxford University and the University of California, Los Angeles.

He started acting at the age of 14 with appearances in films such as “40 Carats,” “The Ice Runner,” “Guarding Tess,” and “Butterflies Are Free.”

He even won a Golden Globe award as the most promising male newcomer.

It was a sad turn of events when the younger Edward Albert was diagnosed with lung cancer and at 55 years old, one year after his father passed, the man also succumbed to the big C.

When Eddie Albert passed, his son was already terminally ill.

It is not easy to lose your father but for Edward Jr., this was even harder because after his father died, he still had a terminal sickness to fight.

His lung cancer was in the late stages, and he knew he had to battle it out to live.

Apparently, he eventually died leaving his wife, actress Kate Woodville, and his daughter Thais. He was also survived by his sister, Maria Zucht.

In a statement honoring him, Kate Woodville commemorated his passion for the environment and his efforts to protect as many of the world’s natural treasures as possible.

In his honor, the Escondido Canyon was given a new name and was changed to the Edward Albert Escondido Trail and Waterfalls.
