A couple of years ago, their duet was heard right in time for the holiday season and it was nothing short of perfection.
The holiday single’s video, was a delightful mix of festive, whimsical, and heartwarming moments, captivating its audience from start to finish.
Dressed in their finest Christmas attire, the duo indulged in classic seasonal activitiesâplayful snowball fights, crafting snow angels, joyous sleigh rides, and heartwarming caroling, all brimming with holiday cheer.
The music video opens with a nostalgic television scene featuring Sheeran in green overalls, raising a toast: “Gather ’round the tree, share a song with me, let’s embrace the holiday glee.”
The scene transitions to a lively Christmas bash hosted by Sheeran and John, accompanied by merry piano melodies.
Sheeran belts out the chorus: âLet’s share a kiss underneath the mistletoe, toast with wine, and wish for snow.â
Hurdling over the challenging years

âMerry Christmasâ serves a greater purpose, with proceeds during the 2021 festive season donated equally between The Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation.
Although Sheeran confessed he was initially hesitant about creating a Christmas song, the collaborative effort with John on “Merry Christmas” has proven to be a delightful success.
As of this writing, the video has already gained over 63 million views on YouTube, showcasing their undeniable talent and appeal.
Online viewers couldn’t help but mince some words of praise for John and Sheeran.
“Two musical geniuses collaborating – wonderful! Happy New Year to everyone. Let’s hope next year, things will be better for us all….,” wrote an online viewer.
