Circus acts are meant to not only entertain, but also leave crowds awestruck. They’re usually filled with lots of “ooh” and “aww” moments as spectators are dazzled by the performers.
Prepare to have those same feelings when you witness one couple’s extraordinary act with a giant wheel.
Duo Unity is an artistic performing group made up of partners Lea Toran Jenner and Francis Perreault.
They met back in 2011 at Montreal’s École Nationale de Cirque, eventually deciding to pursue a new challenging journey together. It involved blending their talents into a single Cyr Wheel act.
After training for several years, Lea and Francis developed their own style. As their website shares, they combined “their strengths with poetic sensibility while creating a romantic atmosphere by mixing grace with danger.”
The Cyr Wheel is an acrobatic act that involves a big aluminum ring.
A person holds onto the moving apparatus while inside, controlling it and performing stunts too. Oddle Entertainment explains that it takes a great deal of control and core strength from the user to spin and roll with the wheel.
When Duo Unity performs they delight audiences with their magical act – incredibly sharing the same wheel.
One performance that’s left the internet spellbound took place at the “ARoma” dinner show.
According to the YouTube video description, it was filmed by Double Take Cinematic Circus. The group Duo Unity performs its routine under the spotlight on a circular stage. While it begins with just Francis spinning the wheel – when Lea appears, immediately their sizzling chemistry becomes transparent.
Lea is the first to loop the stage with the wheel, but once her partner joins their act goes to new heights.
Together they control the ring, making it roll and spin while performing graceful moves on the inside.

Duo Unity’s routine is a mixture of techniques that take place inside the ring, as well as outside. In addition, both Francis and Lea shine as a team, but also as individuals too.

Over the years, the group’s racked up awards and accomplishments with their stunning Cyr Wheel act.
Duo Unity received a Bronze Medal in 2015 from Paris’ Circus Festival Cirque de Demain. They also earned an “Audience Award” and Gold Medal at the 2019 International Festival of Albacete. As a pair, Francis and Lea have worked with various variety and circus shows, and have made television appearances and performed at events.
