What is Christmas without the songs?

After all, this is the merry season, and songs and jingles make it even merrier.

I bet we are even familiar with the all-familiar debate on when it is okay to start playing Christmas songs.

If only people wouldn’t judge, we’d like to play jingles any day!

This is also a season when popular artists join the merriment with their renditions.

Through the years, we’ve heard artists, young and old, make their renditions of popular Christmas songs.

Others prefer to write an original or add a new twist to a Christmas classic. We even see music collaborations left and right!

So it’s inevitable that artists would join up on night shows to entertain people with Christmas jingles.

One of the most popular and visited shows is The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

It’s a talk show that consistently brings in the laughs for people.

Plus, if there’s a musical guest, you’ll surely expect a performance and a fun, often unexpected one at that.

Dolly Parton has been collaborating with Jimmy Fallon for years.

But this segment, in particular, had people smiling and laughing all along the way.

It wasn’t just the choice of Christmas songs, nor how the two went goofy together, but no one (including Dolly and Jimmy) could keep a straight face. The medley was made for these two goofballs.

They started the medley with Jimmy singing “Winter Wonderland.”

A few moments later, Dolly went in with “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Jimmy even changed some lines and ended the verse singing, “Deck the halls with boughs of DOLLY,” which made the country icon laugh.

The duo hadn’t even caught their breath when the music transitioned to “Jingle Bell Rock.”

A few lines in and The Roots, the show’s band, picked up the beat a bit for Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer,” with Dolly feigning devastation over Jimmy’s singing the lines of the song.

After the entertaining Christmas jingle, they continued with the jolly tune of “Sleigh Ride.”

Lastly, they capped their medley with “We Need a Little Christmas.”

Jimmy claimed that he would “take this one,” claiming the song to be his part, and Dolly let him be.

But we know how this song can often be tongue-twisting, and, yes, it caught Jimmy!

The two ended up breaking into laughter, and Dolly finally saved them in the finale.

Another song they worked on together was a version of Mariah Carey’s Christmas hit “All I Want for Christmas is You.”

Dolly admitted that she’s always been a fan of Jimmy, and the collaboration was a dream come true. It’s like the song’s lyrics coming to life!

Their latest collaboration is their new Christmas song, “Almost Too Early for Christmas.”

It was released in 2022 and talks about the transition between Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas and how Christmas decorations are already displayed in stores even when there are still the other two holidays!
