Sean Rajaee was one of those grooms who wanted to go big on his wedding day and decided to use the reception to stage quite a show.
As a surprise for his bride, the orthopedic surgeon and his groomsmen put on a performance that his new wife Ariana would never forget. And she didn’t seem the least bit concerned that the attention was off of her for those moments.
A big, bold gesture
Rajaee groomsmen were located all over the country, so that made practicing any kind of performance impossible at the time. That’s when he decided to give up his standard bachelor’s weekend for…dance practice.
Rajaee and 7 of his groomsmen practiced their moves to five songs by Beyonce, Destiny’s Child, Bruno Mars, the Backstreet Boys (Ariana’s favorite boy-band), and even the Persian band Barobax, as a nod to his heritage.
When their big moment finally came, the bride sat waiting at the head of the dance floor while the wedding guests gathered round to see what sort of big surprise that Sean had in store for Ariana.
No one but the groomsmen had any idea what was about to happen.
Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love” began to play throughout the hall.
And that’s when Rajaee and his groomsmen got their groove on.
As soon as they started dancing, everyone cheered and screamed, egging them on – including the bride, of course!
Shirin Rajaee, the groom’s sister and the one who uploaded the video on YouTube, couldn’t believe that her brother pulled this off.
But she knew that he was going to do something big. She told ABC News:
“My brother is an orthopedic surgeon. It’s interesting because a lot of people that know him from the medical world would be like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ But he’s a fun, funny kind of guy. The fact he got he got all the groomsmen to do it and to go along with it was crazy. A lot of them were coming from a long distance.”
The big show
It was quite a spectacle – and their performance even involved props!
Check out those mustaches:
Rajee’s sister also said the dance gave her a feeling of nostalgia.
“When I saw a lot of his moves it took me back to our childhood days because I’d force him to listen to Beyoncé and ‘N Sync,” she said.
What she had a hard time believing is that he got his friends to dance with him!
But that’s what groomsmen are for, right?
A festive affair
The wedding sure seemed like a blast and there was plenty of laughter and celebration.
Ariana is one lucky bride – and we’re lucky to get to see this epic dance number.
Believe it or not, since it was posted in June of 2014, the video has been viewed over 29.7 MILLION times!
Commenters were floored by how great the dance was.
“At first I was like…ok…simple dance moves…understandable since they’re groomsmen and not necessarily a dance group. But, I was blown away by the sheer volume of the choreography and how well everyone hit their marks. The Persian-mustache bit was hilarious, including the one guy trying to rescue his stache from the ground haha. Well done guys. You knocked it out of the park,” said one viewer.
The bride clearly thought so too.
Shirin Rajaee said in her video’s caption:
“The bride was floored by the performance and so were all the guests. We love how people all around the world have loved this video! Thank you for the beautiful comments and feedback!”
She also said that her brother is “now an Orthopedic Surgeon in Los Angeles treating patients with degenerative hip and knee conditions.”
