“The Prayer” is an award-winning song that makes a very powerful duet. But even if you’ve watched “The Prayer” being performed many times before – you’ve probably never seen it done quite like this.

Over the years different musicians have covered “The Prayer,” which was originally sung by world-renowned artists, Andrea Bocelli and Céline Dion. Even a Utah father and daughter went viral this spring with their chilling version.

Just recently, another pair of talented performers took a crack at the song, but they weren’t alone… They were accompanied by their puppets!

Terry Fator and Darci Lynne Farmer are both ventriloquists and winners of the reality show America’s Got Talent.

Mr. Fator brought home the AGT crown during season two with his comical ventriloquism/singing act. 12-year-old Farmer, an Oklahoma native, earned hers a decade later in season 12. Surely they shared those crowns with their puppets!

Another thing Fator and Farmer have in common is that they are beyond entertaining to watch in action. With that being said, wait until you see them perform together!

Fator and Farmer created a Christmas video that’s spreading joy across the internet.

In it, the ventriloquists are joined by their lovable friends Petunia and Winston for a duet-like rendition of “The Prayer.” Only it’s done puppet-style, of course!

Before beginning, Petunia and Winston talk about what they want for Christmas. At first, Fator’s turtle rattles off about all the technology gifts he’s hoping for. But when Farmer’s bunny says that she wants “world peace,” Winston quickly changes his mind.

Then it’s time for their special Christmas duet. Naturally, Fator and Farmer are there to give their puppets “a hand.”

What makes the two ventriloquists even more incredible is that they’re both spectacular singers, a skill that’s intertwined into their acts. We’ve watched them belt out songs with their puppets before – and this time, they gifted the internet an impressive version of “The Prayer.”

Farmer, who’s now 16, starts the song, beautifully singing Céline Dion’s part through her puppet Petunia.

A short time in, Fator joins the performance in Italian (just like opera singer Bocelli).

But how do they do?

Let’s just say there’s an unbelievable amount of talent swirling around this video! Not only are their vocals impressive, but the fact that Fator and Farmer are able to sing a difficult song like “The Prayer” (high notes and all), using their puppets, takes it to a whole other level.

“The Prayer” was written by David Foster, Tony Renis, Carole Bayer Sager, and Alberto Testa – and recorded by Dion and Bocelli for the 1998 animated movie Quest for Camelot. It’s the recipient of a Golden Globe Award.

While you might already have your favorite “Prayer” performances, this could move onto the list!

Terry Fator posted the video on his YouTube channel (as did Farmer) where it’s been winning hearts! One person commented:

“My gosh that was simply incredible. There just aren’t words….”

Another wrote:

“Awesome Awesome Awesome Awesome. What else can be said of these two wonderfully talented people. Have followed each of you from AGT.”

Petunia and Winston were included in some of the compliments too.

“Absolutely spectacular! I wish I could give more than one thumbs up! This deserves at least four, one for each of them.”
