Who would have thought the world would see Simon Cowell sing on a show he’s so famous in?
Well close enough. See, a company called Metaphysic teamed up with a former “AGT” contestant named Daniel Emmet.
The team created a deepfake version of Cowell singing Chicago’s classic ballad “You’re the Inspiration.”
Emmet was called out on the stage where he stood in front of a special camera.
His image was beamed onto a large screen behind him.
Cowell’s head was on Emmet’s body it seemed, and he was actually singing the tune.
The judges burst out laughing and even Simon buried his face in his hands.
Host Terry Crews and judges Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Heidi Klum were having the time of their lives seeing the once overly stern judge now serenading the audience.
Talk about a deepfake audition!
Simon had this day coming and it was like everyone knew it.
But he’s a good sport, laughing and shaking his head the entire time he was “singing” up there.
Maybe he wants the golden buzzer?
Viewers loved it. One named Caroline said,
“hands down the funniest BGT/AGT moment, ever -so funny to see simon squirming[totally embarrassed!], audience and judging panel in hysterics. totally entertaining.”
While Herman Nehru commented, “Of all the auditions in all competitions, it’s the most shocking, jaw-dropping and hilarious performance I have ever seen. I can’t wait to see them again.”
Who knew Mr. Cowell had such an amazing voice?
“Is it inappropriate to fall in love with a contestant?” Simon joked as he jokingly pledged his love to Emmet.
Emmet hasn’t missed a beat with that stunning voice of his.
“Simon, I love you, too,” Emmet replied.
“We’ve always said, ‘Is there such a thing as a perfect contestant? A great singer who looks incredible?’ We just found them,” Cowell said, with the audience wildly cheering behind him.
His fellow judges loved it!
“Honestly, this was the best thing I’ve seen all day,” Heidi Klum said. “And because of you, I’m going to get five more wrinkles because I was laughing so much.”
“I cannot even imagine the amount of work to be able to create something so perfect because if I was not paying attention and I see this on TV, I think it’s Simon 20 years ago singing,” Sofia Vergara said laughing along with the audience.
“Don’t you love the fact that talent could be anything and you guys are pure talent to make us smile and make us laugh. That’s what we want from whatever stands on that X,” Howie Mandel added.
Mandel began the voting, with all four judges giving their approval after being hilariously entertained.
Metaphysic and Emmet surely has more in store for us.
The question now is, who’s the next judge that will sing for the audience?
This has got to be one of the most amusing and unique acts on the show. We can’t wait for more!
