Have you ever heard someone’s voice, then saw what they looked like and thought it didn’t seem to match? Take that notion and multiply it by three and you have Misty. These three boys look like they’re in high school but have the deep voices of someone three times their age.
They may seem like just kids, but this is a talented group.
Dash, Conner, and Henry are all that make up this magical sounding group. First and foremost, the boys are really good friends, and that chemistry shows in the way they sing. They all sing bass (obviously), but they play some instruments as well. Then Dash and Conner mix and record all the music they produce or cover.
Like most young artists these days, the boys got their start on Youtube when they sang a song called The Misty Mountains Cold from the popular movie The Hobbit. They filmed it in an abandoned tunnel that had amazing acoustics that amplified their deep tones even more. They quickly went viral with the video reaching over 2 million views.
After that they created a channel, gained thousands of followers, and racked up thousands of views. Now they’re creating original songs and doing covers for everyone. The most recent being Hallelujah just in time for the Christmas season.
The song they chose to sing in this popular video takes them back to four years ago.
The three are singing Misty Mountain again, but this time with a little more experience under their belts. They’ve moved on from the tunnel and, to start the video, have a very eery feeling to it. The deep voices paired with the candlelit faces is a sharp contrast to their other videos, especially their first.
Again, if you weren’t seeing their faces, you would have thought they took this music right out of the movie. The three of them alone sound like a men’s choir. A choir would be lucky to have these three in it.
The video is so dark that until it focuses on one member, you don’t know who is singing which part. About halfway into the song, one of the voices changes and goes slightly higher up, but never off tune. This just goes to show that these three have range and are capable of singing much more than deep, hymn-like songs.
But looking at all the videos, you can see they’re just a group of friends having fun. The three definitely have a career or at least college scholarships ahead of them, but for now we hope they stick to making more Youtube videos for all of us to enjoy.
