Losing a relative is absolutely heartbreaking, and everyone deals with it in their own way.
One family from Utah found a little comfort through Andra Day’s hit song “Rise Up.” But instead of just listening to it – they all got in the car for an emotional singing session of the tune!
The video has racked up over two million views on YouTube. It even has many viewers needing their own tissues. So be prepared to grab some too…
Jewell Richins is the father of seven. But if that isn’t impressive enough, he also has over a million followers on his social media accounts.
He describes himself on YouTube as being:
“Just a dad who loves his kids & has a ton of fun raising them.”

In Jewell’s videos, he is joined by his lovely daughters who sing their hearts out. What makes the videos extra unique is that their “mini-concerts” take place in the family vehicle. Dad is always behind the wheel while his girls belt out a popular song.
This is one awesome Papa.
While some parents might prefer a more peaceful drive, Jewell seems proud listening to his daughters jam out in the car. If you flip through their videos, it’s easy to see that they all have a blast.
After the family experienced a loss they decided to dedicate a special performance to their loved one.
In the video description, Jewell wrote:
“This goes out to my father#2, dialysis ends & a new journey begins. We will never forget you Joe Hill”
The video features the three of them in the car (as usual), yet, it’s obvious they’re all experiencing heartache. When “Rise Up” begins to play, the girls break into singing. It only takes a moment before Dad is wiping tears from his eyes.
All the words seem to hit him deeply.
As Jewell listens to his daughters’ angelic voices, he seems overwhelmed with emotion taking it all in. He weeps and points to the camera at different points in honor of his second father, Joe Hill.
“Rise Up” is powerful on its own.
When you’re feeling down, music can help boost the soul. Andra Day’s Grammy-nominated song is one that many people turn to during dark times. Not only does it contain uplifting and empowering lyrics, but it’s quite beautiful too.
A lot of viewers are admitting that Jewell and his daughters’ video brought them to tears.
One person commented:
“not even 10 secs in, and im already crying”
Someone else said:
“I’m not even lying this gave me chills. And when the dad started crying I felt that. And they have literally amazing voices like I- I can’t”
Another wrote:
“Honestly, I never cry at this sort of things but honestly this made me sooo emotional it is unreal 🥺💗 Stay strong, be safe and think positive. Life gets rough but if you work together you will get through it. 💗”
At the end of the tear-filled performance, Jewell has a message for Joe.
He looks at the camera and tells him:
“We all love you, Joe. We’ll see you on the other side. Thanks for all the memories, bro. Peace out, buddy.”
Since posting the video in February of 2020, it’s gathered over 164K “likes” on YouTube.
