Some musicians find extremely unique ways to stand out.
What could be better than some good music and Star Wars? Not much would be an accurate answer to that question—which is exactly why this musician decided to do an epic guitar cover, all while dressed as one of the most famous Star Wars super-villains of all time.
The results are pretty incredible!
YouTube user Mockingbirdravelle has made a name for himself by shredding his guitar while dressed as Darth Vader.
The young musician has many videos on his YouTube channel, with him sporting the Darth Vader mask in the majority of them. He covers everything from the Super Mario Bros theme to songs by bands like Queen and Madonna.
In this video, he covers “Boogie” by the legendary Tommy Emmanuel.
Mockingbirdravelle wastes no time, ripping chord after chord from the very start.
The gifted guitarist from the dark side has no problem covering the complex song.
Tommy Emmanuel would surely approve of this awesome cover—especially because of the sweet costume this guy wears! The Darth Vader helmet makes it seem like he has no emotion, but we’re sure he’s making the typical musician’s facial expressions underneath his costume.
Halfway through the captivating performance, he does an amazing string of riffs without ever skipping a beat.
He’s clearly got some serious talent, and it’s too bad we never get to see his face. Although, it does make him super mysterious.
He keeps the cover going, never taking his mask off to reveal himself.
Mockingbirdravelle has some serious skills on the guitar, as not many musicians can cover Tommy Emmanuel’s difficult work so perfectly. But this isn’t the only phenomenal cover he’s done—in another video, he covered Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.”
In one of his earlier videos, he does a medley cover of Super Marios Bros songs and in his first video dressed as Darth Vader, he does the Imperial March from Star Wars.
As he gets toward the end of the song, the focused musician lets out a barrage of beautiful sounds.
It’s easy to see why so many people were in awe with Mockingbirdravelle, his YouTube channel has over 75,000 subscribers by itself. Part of his appeal is not knowing who he is, it could literally be anybody!
Music lovers on the internet couldn’t get enough of the sick cover performance, millions of people watched him flawlessly play “Boogie” by Tommy Emmanuel.
This is his second most viral video, beaten only by his attempt to cover Lupin the Third Theme “80” arranged by Daisuke Minamizawa which got over seven million views.
The video of him playing “Boogie” as Darth Vader has been viewed over 4.2 million, with 83,000 people liking it.
Not only did he get tons of views and likes, but over 7,000 people also left comments for Mockingbirdravelle. Of course, many of them were hilarious Star Wars related jokes.
“A magic guitar player you are, famous Youtuber thou shalt be. May the Force be with you,” user Rondo Hatton joked.
YouTube has made it possible for countless artists like this, to make a name for themselves doing something that they love with a quirky spin on it. Be sure to check out some more of Mockingbirdravelle’s fantastic cover performances dressed as Darth Vader—you can watch them on his YouTube channel.
