Weddings are always wonderful occasions, complete with so many magical moments to put smiles on the faces and joy into the hearts of the happy couple themselves and all of their assembled family and friends.
Of course, the wedding vows, first kiss, and “I do” moments are all very special and romantic, but the daddy-daughter dance is also an emotional and unmissable part of many wedding celebrations.
Traditionally, this is when the father of the bride and his daughter share a touching and beautiful dance together, often with some kind of slow music playing in the background. But this bride and her dad had other ideas in mind!
Their dance started off pretty traditionally, with the dad, Dr. Gary Otto, holding onto his daughter, Madison, and smiling brightly as they stepped slowly around the dance floor.
But all of a sudden, the music cut out and the daddy-daughter dance looked like it might come to an awkward end!
Luckily, the best was yet to come as new music kicked in. Better When I’m Dancin’ by Meghan Trainor started to play and the crowd went wild as the daddy-daughter dance took a surprising turn!
Everyone assumed that Gary and Madison were just going to do a usual dance, but it turned out that they’d prepared a whole routine as the bride began to shake her hips and her father showed off his magical moves!
After a brief clip of Better When I’m Dancin’, new music started to play and Gary got serious, taking off his jacket and putting on a pair of sunglasses!
The father of the bride looked too cool for school as he bent his knees and hopped across the floor, with Madison following behind.
And this awesome medley was only just getting started. In the seconds that followed, Sexy And I Know It by LMFAO started to play, and then came Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson.
And for each song that played, the bride and her father had a whole mini routine all ready to go!
The family and friends watching the scene just couldn’t get enough as each song started to play and Gary and Madison continued to groove like a pair of pros.
Madison was amazing throughout, but Gary really deserves extra credit for how much humor and energy he put into the performance. One of the highlights has to be when Usher’s Yeah! was playing and Gary decided to start shaking his booty for all to see.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and after a little bit of Shakira and a couple more tracks to close out the routine, the music suddenly switches right back to the very first track.
At that point, the pair resume their traditional, emotional dance as though nothing had happened in between.
It’s such a good routine and it’s got to be a real contender for the title of ‘Best Daddy-Daughter Dance Ever’!
Gary and Madison did a wonderful job blending a touching and classic dance with some more unexpected and entertaining moves. Enjoy it all in the player below.
