Though it might go without saying, a wedding is one of the most important days of a person’s life.
After meeting different people and looking for someone compatible, we may finally meet the one person that we feel completes us.
Next, it’s time for our families to meet to see if they all like each other and get along. After so many important steps and a lot of planning, it’s time for the big day—and after all that stress and planning, who wouldn’t want to have a little fun?
At least, we’re guessing that was the thinking behind the video we’re talking about today.
The clip was originally uploaded to YouTube in October 2016.
As the video begins, a bride and her father can be seen slow dancing in the middle of a crowd of people. At first, they’re doing the typical slow waltz that everyone comes to expect from a wedding—but a few moments later, there’s a record scratch.
After that, they break apart and “Can’t Touch This” by MC Hammer starts playing. Right away, the whole crowd surges with excitement—and both the bride and father put sunglasses on!
Before long, they’re both busting a move and the whole crowd is cheering.
Next, the song switches to “Apache (Jump On It)” by the Sugarhill Gang.
Without missing a beat, the two of them strike all the familiar hip-thrust poses and dance around in a circle. Next up is the “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO.
As soon as it starts playing, dad starts doing all kinds of robotic wave moves, and his daughter passes them back effortlessly. When the breakdown comes, they start furiously dancing one again.
A moment later, the two are doing a kind of slow waltz again and the whole crowd can’t stop laughing.
Next up, the two hits some disco moves while everyone cheers.
Still, the performance is only half over. Before long, they’re doing some Bollywood dance moves as well. After that, they’re swinging and swaying to the Tom Jones classic “It’s Not Unusual.”
As they get to the end, “Bye Bye Bye” by the Backstreet Boys starts playing and the duo manage to do a few moves from the iconic music video. When it’s finally over, they both slump down as if their power has just been turned off—just like the video.
At that, the whole crowd gives them a huge round of applause and the camera sweeps around to document it.
Since the video was uploaded, it has earned more than 25 million views—and for good reason!
Although the trend of wedding flash mobs has become more and more popular on the internet in recent years, not all of them have the flash or the joy that this one does. Rather than just doing a couple of songs, this father and daughter duo ran through an entire list of major hits, each with its own unique dance moves to go with it.
Beyond that, it’s rare to see someone’s dad commit so hard to dancing as he did! Needless to say, this is one of the most effective and successful wedding dances we’ve ever seen.
Congratulations to this father and daughter on a truly hilarious show! Be sure to watch the whole thing in the link below:
