Singing while showering is one thing, but this?
No shame when it comes to letting out your god-given voice to the winds in a time when you need to let it out. For most of us, this is in the comfort of our own homes and more specifically, during much-needed shower meditation sessions.
That’s why we were surprised when we found a video of a precious 9-year-old girl that took singing her heart out to a new level. This viral clip was directed, produced, and distributed by none other than her Dad!
It all started on a sunny afternoon in Pensacola, Florida. The weather was just right to be pool-side and absorb some vitamin D while breathing fresh, clean air. Tom Coverly decided to be a little sneaky now that his daughter, Annika, had gone to do her chore of cleaning up the pool.
What he saw was far from what he expected!
Suddenly, Annika started to sing “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys and that’s when the shenanigans began to erupt. From the way she held the cleaning pole, it was clear that Annika was using it as her very own microphone, which made her seem like a very creative 9-year-old.
Annika was not shying away at all. As soon as the chorus hit, Annika made sure to unleash all of her energy from her lungs as she sang each note powerfully. The scene was truly captivating and her Dad had no choice but to give her the respect and credit she deserves.
“You’re the best singer/pool cleaner ever,” said Tom in the video recording.
The young bundle of joy couldn’t even be embarrassed by her mini-performance, as she simply turned around and thanked her dad while laughing at his sneaky actions.
Even one commenter wrote, “She said thank you instead of turning away embarrassed — she’s going places,”.
But the most important comment came from Alicia Keys herself where she wrote, “I love this!! Sing mama!!! You are amazing!!! And you ARE on fire!!” said Keys.
The viral video has amassed more than 8 million views on Tik Tok and has been making headlines all over social media. It really goes to show how important female empowerment is at an early age. Support and a funny video give so much confidence to these young humans and it definitely shows after Annika gave us a great big smile by the end.
Tom sounded like he was extremely proud of his baby girl
As he should be! The girl has got a lot of heart to do what she did. I mean, just look at all that emotion on her face! She’s clearly pouring her heart out to the pole of all things. This makes us wonder, was she affected by anything that would’ve challenged her mood that day?
Maybe not. Maybe she just felt like letting it be known that her princess magic would not be trifled with. Or she just simply wanted to have some fun on a nice summery day. Whatever the case is, we’re glad it happened the way it did and it proved that this girl has what it takes to become the next musical sensation.
