Many parents pass on their musical tastes to their children. They listen to music while their children are growing and those children grow up liking their parent’s music. It kind of rubs off on them.

Sydney’s dad is one of those parents.

He always plays guitar and sings songs around his daughter. Apparently, he also headbangs because it seems as if his daughter has picked it up. Sydney’s dad is a Bon Jovi fan. And the cutest thing ever happened when Sydney’s dad started playing a Bon Jovi song for the 8-month-old on the guitar.

He decided to play Bon Jovi’s cowboy anthem “Wanted Dead or Alive” off of the band’s 1986 Slippery When Wet album. The song was written by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora and was released in 1987 as the album’s third single.

Sydney gets super excited as her dad starts to play.

She starts bobbing her head up and down and shaking about while she shrieks in an attempt to sing. Then she starts shaking a little more furiously. At this point, this little baby is pretty much headbanging. Something she, no doubt, learned from dear old dad.

Then Sydney takes matters into her own hands. It looks like she takes over and wants to be the rock star instead of her father.

She grabs the guitar and starts to strum the strings.

This diaper-clad baby definitely has rock and roll in her future. Apparently, this dad is doing a great thing because not only is he helping to inspire next generation of musicians but he’s also encouraging her development, as experts say music is beneficial to children.

“Babies just love songs, rhythms, and music and, like children and adults, greatly benefit from a musical environment. However, scientists have found that the effect music has on the young minds of babies is far more significant that one would imagine,” Tiny Love states. “Recent studies have shown that music affects the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of babies and children and strengthens cognitive and sensory development.”

Actually, experts say it’s best to expose children to music even before they are born and still in the womb.

“The amazing effect music has on the mind starts even before birth. Recent studies have shown that children exposed to classical music in the womb exhibit a positive change in physical and mental development after birth. In a recent experiment, fetuses were exposed to 70 hours of classical music during the last weeks of pregnancy,” the article states. “At six months, these babies were more advanced in terms of motor skills and linguistic and intellectual development than babies who received no musical stimulus. Babies are born with 100 billion loosely connected nerve cells in their bodies – various cognitive and mental experiences help establish and strengthen the inter-cellular connections in the brain.”

Looks like this headbanging baby is off to a great start. Check out her rock star skills in the video below.
