Just a couple of days ago we celebrated Woman’s Day, and what better present for a woman to return home after a really bad week at work to find a clean house and a surprise dance performed by her husband and daughters?
Well, this was not really a Woman’s Day present, but it could have been! A few months ago, Johnny gathered his two daughters and a friend of theirs and suggested they accept the Git Up challenge that was super popular on social media.
The Git Up challenge started in May 2019 by country-rap artist Blanco Brown, who also invented the choreography and filmed a tutorial that went viral on YouTube with more than 60M views.
After that, the challenge took over the internet.
They posted on YouTube or TikTok their version of The Git Up challenge- from medical staff to police officers to families.
So, Johnny, who knew his wife would love the performance and it would make her day, decided to dance with his two daughters and their friend.
And by the looks of things, they all had a great time putting it together.
According to the dad himself, he initially asked the girls to be in the front so they could be more clearly seen, but they were too shy to do it, so they asked him to guide them with his practiced moves.
However, towards the end of the video, the dad steps back and lets the girls take the stage, who, by then, have become a little more comfortable with the dance and the camera.
“They did not want to be in the front…” the dad commented below the video, “lol I told them, that I would be in front (but I did not want to) but they had to switch around at the last part and they agreed!”
In reality, the man had only started practicing the dance moves that day, and the whole thing was prepared in just hours- they didn’t really have time for extensive practice, it was an on-the-spot decision.
Yet, they nailed it!
Okay, it’s not a professional dancing performance, but it’s a great way for the family to spend time together. The girls will remember this day forever and they will cherish the moments of fun and dance with their daddy!
And, certainly, they will always remember the surprised look on mom’s face when she got home!
“What I loved most about my husband doing this with our daughters and their friend is that this was a surprise for me,” Haley, the mom, commented on the video. “I had a pretty bad week and I came home to a clean house and a performance and none of them knew the dance before this day they had practiced it in the hours that I was gone so this video was a one take and I think they all did great considering this was the first day they had practiced it!!”
The video has since been viewed more than 800K times and collected hundreds of positive comments for their great work!
“This was fantastic. Dad has moves. LOL Your girls will remember this forever. Way to have fun,” wrote a YouTube user, and this pretty much summed up all the other comments.
