By now, just about everyone has heard of the “Git Up” dance challenge. Since first becoming popular, we’ve seen videos involving all sorts of people. That includes doctors and nurses, police officers, school teachers, and friends. Although they’re all fun to watch, the father and daughter duos are probably the most exciting and sweet.
You’ve heard the saying, “Daddy’s little girl.” For most dads and their daughters, that’s the way it is. They have some kind of unique bond that’s hard to describe or even understand. So, when one father and his little princess decided to take on the “Git Up” challenge, it quickly became a big hit on social media.
You see their love from the beginning
From the second the video starts you can tell that these two have a super close relationship. They’re both dressed casually. He’s in gray shorts and a black t-shirt while his daughter’s wearing patterned shorts and a neon green top. But if you look closely, you’ll notice something different about this dance challenge compared to the others posted online.
What’s in their hands?
For their Git Up challenge, they’re each holding a packet of Capri Sun? Why? Because the dance-off they chose was the Capri Sun challenge. Usually, people who do this use their arms and hands. So, having to hold onto something makes the moves a little more difficult to do.
No worries…they nailed it
It’s obvious this dad and daughter duo were having fun yet taking the challenge seriously. I’m not sure how long they practiced, but they got all the moves down perfectly. Throughout the video, which by the way has been viewed thousands upon thousands of times, they stay in perfect rhythm to the song.
Dancing side-by-side
Throughout most of the dance, these two remain side-by-side. They’re shaking and bopping. But at one point, the dad reaches over to take his daughter’s hand, giving her a quick but gentle spin. All the while, they’re still holding onto their Capri Sun packets.
They’ve got some fancy footwork
As father and daughter, most of their moves mimic each other. But if you watch their feet, you can see they have some natural dancing talent. They do their kicks and steps in perfect unison. Sure, most of the Git Up challenge videos are fun to watch but there’s something special about this one. We love it right along with people from around the globe.
A fun ending
Throughout the entire video, these two entertain. But they don’t just stop dancing when the music ends. No, they have to make it more exciting. So, toward the end of the video, this dad and his daughter take a big swig of the Capri Sun they’ve been holding the whole time.
A treasure to hold on to
This Git Up challenge has it all. Two people who love each other to the moon and back, cute, choreographed moves, and of course, great music by Blanco Brown. I have a feeling when this artist recorded the son, he had no idea that a phenomenon would sweep across the world. If I were a betting person, I’d say this dad and daughter duo made him very proud.
