What can parents do for entertainment when they’re home alone with their kids?
Some folks play board games, watch cartoons or even play the old-school hide and seek.
Then we have dads who love to perform with their children!
This is certainly not the first video of a father who decided to play a duet with his child, but it’s definitely just as heart-warming as they come! You’ll feel like hugging your family right after you watch it!
The Narvaez family has a YouTube channel with more than 645,000 subscribers.
Their description explains that they love to perform together, and their aim is to share their love of music, community, Hispanic culture and art with the world.
They are a family of five, and their Instagram account is hilarious.
Scrolling through their photos is adorable, and we’re guessing that their 47,300 followers feel the same way!
The video is from 2010, and the Narvaez family has not been the same ever since.
The father Jorge is in the video along with his beautiful daughter Alexa.
They are performing the acoustic version of “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Jorge plays the guitar, and the adorable Alexa sings along. The video became an instant hit, and Jorge and Alexa became overnight superstars.
The duo later performed on America’s Got Talent where they impressed the audience, though they went home before the quarterfinals.
The most beautiful part of the Narvaez story is that Jorge did everything to create a more stable situation for his children.
He is the first person from his family to graduate college, and we couldn’t be more proud of this father who stops at nothing to make a better future for his family.
It is a lovely inspiration to all of us because there are a lot of people out there who share the same struggles.
Anyway, the father-daughter duo later appeared on Ellen, and Alexa melted everyone’s hearts one more time.
Even so, many things have changed for this family since 2010.
We’ve watched some of the most recent videos on their YouTube channel, and the little girl is all grown-up now.
Ten years have passed since the video was posted and the family now has a third child, making Alexa the proud sister of a little sister, and her baby brother. When the video was filmed, Alexa was a beautiful kid with some very powerful voice.
Her charisma and cuteness made the video irresistible, which is probably why more than 30 million people have seen it on YouTube.
Today, Alexa and Jorge continue to perform together, and their bond is an incredible example of how many amazing things that can happen when a father and daughter join forces.
After a glance at the comments section, we’ve seen that some kids even grew up with the Narvaez duo.
It’s quite beautiful to be able to track back time and compare your memories to someone interesting you’ve been following all along. Jorge and Alexa surely have their fanbase, and we wish them the best of luck. We’re guessing that this talented girl will probably become a very popular singer—she’s got a beautiful voice and the full support of her loving family. What more could we ask for?
