Have you ever seen a baby that can moonwalk? Well, baby Miles Ballard can. Well, sort of. With the help of his dad, Adam Ballard, he can.
When it’s just the dudes hangin’ around the house… things get silly.
The stay-at-home dad decided he would create a video for mom Kellie while she was at work. He was also trying to get his son down for a nap and he figured dancing to some Michael Jackson might help.
So, he put Miles in a Baby Bjorn, flipped on the camera, and helped him dance on a table to Jackson’s song “Beat It.” And the results were hilarious. He even does a flawless moonwalk that would even likely impress the King of Pop.
The video was posted on Facebook where it instantly went viral and was beloved by thousands.
So much so that the video received more than 5 million views 94,500 shares, and 20,000 comments on Facebook in seven days. The YouTube video currently has 128,199 views.
“That particular day, Miles was being super fussy, and I was pretty sleep deprived,” Ballard told USA Today. “We have two kids. I took the phone out and thought maybe I can do a dancing video because we had done some with his sister when she was younger. It was meant to be a practice run.”
It all started because both Miles and his older sister Zoey enjoyed looking at their reflections in a mirror which morphed into Adam and Kellie helping them to dance in the mirror.
In this video, Miles is checking himself out in the reflection of the table.
“A few different media agencies that try to advertise viral videos reached out to me,” Ballard said. “That whole process is funny. I’m fielding a lot of questions from a lot of different people, and I still have to do all of my dad stuff at the same time. So it’s like I’m doing a licensing agreement while I’m changing a diaper. It’s pretty humorous.”
Ballard said the best part of his newfound internet fame is getting to read comments from other silly dads who like to goof around with their kids. He said it’s an experience that he wouldn’t change for the world.
“I thoroughly enjoy it,” he said. “It’s as fun as you make it, so I try to make it as fun as possible.”
