One of the best things about singing is that it can help people who are shy or not very social come out of their shells.
Courtney Hadwin is a shy teenager, but you’d never know that from watching her perform.
When she first appeared on America’s Got Talent, she told judge Mel B that she was very nervous and shy. But that didn’t stop her from blowing the roof off the building with her incredible voice!
Unsurprisingly, Courtney earned a Golden Buzzer for her audition and became an instant favorite on AGT. Since then, fans have avidly waited for her to perform again.
She returned to the stage for a third time this season to perform during the semifinals and once again, Courtney proved she is a talent like no other.
Courtney performed a version of “Born to be Wild” that would make Steppenwolf proud. It didn’t sound anything like the original song at first, but that is what made it incredible.
When she was done singing, the judges got a chance to tell Courtney what they thought of her cover of “Born to be Wild.”
Howie Mandel was the first to praise Courtney. He said:
“I can’t sit down. I can’t sit down. You were born to be wild! And this was wild. You’re amazing. The buzz is going to continue. My prediction is you’re going to win America’s Got Talent 2018.”
Mel B and Heidi Klum both felt that Courtney’s nerves poked through her performance more than usual and felt that it took away from her performance.
Heidi praised Courtney for coming on the show and singing the genre of music that she does because most girls her age come onto AGT and just sing pop songs. But Courtney has delved into a genre and a new vibe to the show for girls her age. Heidi told Courtney that she was authentic and original.
Simon Cowell disagreed with the female judges and told Courtney he was glad she wasn’t perfect.
Simon said:
“Courtney, you know what, none of your performances should be perfect, because that is what you’re about. It’s kind of like this bundle of excitement and it’s raw and it’s messy. You’re 14, right? I saw you at the beginning of the show, backstage, shaking like a leaf. Then you come on stage and you turn into a manic. And that’s what I absolutely love you, Courtney, please God, you’re in the final next week, I absolutely adore you.”
What did you think of this performance? Should Courtney make it all the way to the finals?

If you haven’t been keeping up with America’s Got Talent this season, Courtney Hadwin has been a can’t-miss act since her audition.
After performing a jazz hit, Courtney became one of the most talked about acts on the show – because she is so young and so talented.
For her audition, Courtney performed a very eccentric and lively cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle.” It had the judges talking immediately!
Howie Mandel liked her performance so much, he slammed his Golden Buzzer to send Courtney straight to the live shows.

When Courtney returned for her second performance on America’s Got Talent, it was just as memorable as her first audition.
For her second performance on America’s Got Talent, Courtney decided to channel the King of Soul. She chose to sing “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag” by James Brown.
Her performance got off the ground in seconds, as she began with a shrill yell that demanded the audience’s undivided attention.
