It takes two to tango.
Literally.
The world-famous partner dance was developed in Argentina during the 18th century.
These days, Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagiruychenko are perfecting the art form.
Riccardo was born in Rome, Italy on December 19, 1977.
He began his dancing career at the impressionable age of six.
Cocchi’s parents were supportive of his passion and consistently attended his shows.
He quickly began to dominate the competition in his homeland. Decades of success soon followed his fleet feet.
In October of 2007, he received an offer to start a partnership with Yulia Zagoruychenko. At the time, she was considered one of the premier performers in the Latin American program.
The duo went on to see unprecedented success.
The couple’s initial formation proved beyond fruitful with numerous successful early tournament wins including the International in Brentwood, England.
Yulia Zagoruychenk was born in Belgorod, Russia.
She began dancing at the age of four.
She transitioned into ballroom dancing at seven and started teaching at age 11. Yulia’s been a trailblazer since she was a toddler!
A year later, she won her first major title, becoming the Russian Junior National champion.
After tons of success at home, Yulia decided to move to the United States to dance. A new life and new dance partners awaited.
What came next? Success after success.
She’s won tons of titles including the World South American Show Dance Championship and the US National Professional Latin Championship.
In fact, Yulia’s placed as a grand finalist in all major World Professional Latin competitions!
All in all, Riccardo and Yulia is a match made in heaven.
Anyway, back to the action.
The champion dancers seductively start to the tune of an orchestral tango.
The pair absolutely light the stage ablaze!
Their tantalizing movements captivated the viewers with every vivacious stride.
Every leg swing echoes a vibration so sexual they could tear your eyeballs right out of their sockets.
Elegance and sophistication are at the forefront of this performance.
There’s really no denying it.
Just the presentation is a spectacle to behold!
The sleek, dark outfits of both dancers sharpen their bravados like peacocks during mating season.
Cocchi’s slicked-back hair and pumped chest project confidence and intensity, while Yulia’s sexuality charms the audience like a sorceress casting an encantation.
Her black dress wickedly slurs around her eccentric, yet calculated movements.
We call this move the “sweep of your feet.”
Not only is Yulia literally swept off her feet by Cocchi, but our hearts are swept off their own proverbial feet right into Riccardo’s strong arms.
Yulia appears to be motionless as he pulls her closer ever so gently without breaking a sweat.
This hug session had us crying our eyelashes out.
The two begin to embrace like lovers at first sight.
A quick flurry of spins occurs while the dancers remain in each other’s arms as if destiny had no other plan.
Moments like this remind us how eloquent the human body can be without whispering a single word.
And yes, that does indeed look like a butt grab.
Their tender tango continues amid the elegant orchestral music.
Nobody’s ready for what’s to come.
The tension builds as the choreography gets increasingly intricate.
The dynamic duo end their performance in triumphant fashion amid twirls and gravity-defying acrobatics!
The crowd roars, reacting to a fantastic finale!
That was breathtaking.
Our esteemed dancers stand up and take a much-deserved bow.
The crowd continues to lose their collective craniums! I can’t blame them.
