If you know anything about viral videos, then you understand for them to reach an unprecedented number of views, they have to be more than just average. For one to “go viral,” it has to contain spectacular content…something that leaves you breathless.
Dance videos
If you research the internet, you’ll have no problem finding an assortment of dance videos. Some feature newly married couples enjoying their first dance while others include unbelievable hip-hop moves. But once in a while, a video comes along that blows all the others out of the water.
Changing the world
According to experts, dance videos aren’t just fun to watch but they’ve actually inspired an entire new generation of people who want to learn how to perform the same steps they see. Having the ability to watch videos online has had a significant impact on the dance world as a whole.
Canadian Swing Championships
As a perfect example, several couples competed in the 2015 Canadian Swing Championships. And what they did on the dance floor got a lot of other people interested in this particular style. At one time, Swing was all the rage but then it slowly became known as an “old person’s” dance. Today, it’s back stronger than ever.
Rockabilly Jive
For this competition, the dancers would be performing to rockabilly music. Before this event, they competed against several other couples. Those that won through a process of elimination got to dance in the Jack and Jill finals.
Getting started
First, the announcer says a few words. In the background, you can hear a bunch of people cheering loudly. Then, for those on the dance floor, they were all smiles. Now it was their turn to show some of their incredible moves.
Grab your partner
Some couples held each other by the waist while others joined hands. Quickly, you see the feet flying. They do some relatively easy footwork. But that’s about to change. It’s not long before things really heat up.
Moving into the finals
Among all the different contestants, two initially stood out. Dressed casually, she in a red and white striped romper and he in a plaid shirt with black jeans, they were about to tear things up. And boy, when the music started, that’s what they did.
Cool stuff
The person recording the dance-off focuses in on the one couple. They start to swing each other around while doing hop-like moves with their feet. The entire time, they keep smiling. Yes, this is a competition but they’re having a blast.
Switching to another couple
Then, the video moves over to yet a different couple. They too perform some super cool moves by going under each other’s arms. Next, they do a few front kicks. The one thing you notice immediately is that everyone on the dance floor maintains a perfect rhythm to the music.
They catch the eye
All of a sudden, another couple starts pulling off some amazing moves. They do some kind of backward walk that’s pretty awesome. Then, they begin to swing each other around. The camera spans the floor, giving viewers a peek into everyone’s incredible talent.
The best is yet to come
But the best part of the video is to come. Around the 2:30 marker, each couple takes center stage. That’s when they really let loose to showcase their incredible dancing ability. They’re going so fast and doing so many things, it’s almost hard to keep up.
