Have you ever listened to a song and suddenly, you feel the urge to dance?
Some songs just give you that energy to dance and move your body.
Four years ago, CampHollywood posted a special little dance presentation.
Starring Chandrae Roettig-Gomez and Stephen Sayer.
The gorgeous duo lit up the dance floor with their special performance at the National Jitterbug Championships in Camp Hollywood.
Watching them with their moves, smiling faces, and infectious dance steps, you can’t hide the fact that we’ve missed watching these dance contests.
Camp Hollywood canceled events last year.
All we could do is rehash the best of their past and hope to see it all live again someday soon.
For a fan of swing dance, you may already be familiar with the term ‘jitterbug.’
A dance popularized in the 1930s.
It’s a generalized term used to describe how Swing dancers danced without control or knowledge.
Back in the day, you could let yourself go and dance any way you want. You just let the music dictate how your body moves, hence, the term ‘jitterbug.’
This term came from alcoholics.
They often suffered from ‘jitters,’ which we now know as dancing without control.
Electric dance duo Chandrae Roettig-Gomez and Stephen Sayer made an exciting appearance at the National Jitterbug Championships.
The audience fell in love with the duo as they danced to the song, ‘Land of 1000 Dances’ by Wilson Pickett.
We love how they start.
Stephen faced the audience first and then Chandrae. Both looked like they were feeling the music from their hands to their bodies.
The look on their faces is full of energy, happiness, excitement, and brightness.
Both Stephen and Chandrae shook up the room with their energetic dance steps. You can’t help but smile as you see them enjoy each step.
Not a routine for the novices
Their dance does look a bit complicated, but they are professionals, and the well-choreographed steps are perfect for each beat of the music.
Now, that’s how you jitterbug!
The vibe of their dance was happy, playful, energetic, and of course, infectious!
Throughout the performance, both dancers were smiling and showing happiness as they were dancing. This definitely adds to the overall appeal of the dance.
Even if we are just watching them perform, you can’t help but smile and even feel the beat of the music.
They owned the dance floor with their amazing moves and beautiful smiles.
Indeed, this is the secret to performing.
You don’t compete just to win.
You are performing on the dance floor because you love what you are doing, and you’re enjoying every beat of it.
If you love what you are doing, it will show, and the people watching you will definitely feel it as well.
See these two lay down the jitterbug boogie in the video below!
