The song “My Heart Will Go On” sang by Celine Dion in the movie “Titanic” is one of the beautiful love songs ever written. It’s a top pick for many weddings and special events. It’s also a popular song for performances. One couple, ice skaters Alexa Scimeca-Knierim and her husband, Chris Knierim, decided to use the song for one of their routines, and the results brought the audience to tears.

As soon as the song started to play, the audience went quiet.

They know that this was going to be a beautiful performance, and they were all on the edge of their seats waiting for it to start. Alexa and Chris start close to each other, and as the music builds, so does their routine. Before long, Chris is tossing Alexa into the air and catching her as they skate around on the ice.

If you aren’t familiar with this classic song, the lyrics are:

“Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you, go on

“Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you, go on

“Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you’re here in my heart and my heart will go on and on

“Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we’re gone

“Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold you
In my life, we’ll always go on

“Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you’re here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

“You’re here, there’s nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We’ll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart and my heart will go on and on”

These two may make ice skating look easy, but it’s pretty difficult.

Just moving forward on the ice is hard enough, but these two are doing amazing jumps and difficult tricks. Their bodies move together and match the music, and it’s clear that they are both very passionate about the sport and each other.

If they didn’t have such amazing chemistry, this routine probably wouldn’t be so good.

Alexa and Chris started skating together in 2012. They began dating a short time later, got engaged in 2014, and were married in 2016. They train together in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the Broadmoor World Arena with Larry Ibarra, Dalilah Sappenfield, and several other coaches. They won their first national title in 2015.

In 2016, Alexa became very ill, and she wasn’t sure if she would be able to return to the ice.

She did make a comeback, though, and in 2017, they won their second national title. Their greatest achievement came at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where they won a bronze medal. They were the only U.S. pair team at this Olympic Games.

They performed an amazing routine with some pretty spectacular tricks.

They also received the highest score of their skating careers. They are the first U.S. pair to perform a quad twist at the Olympics successfully, as well as the second pair ever. They definitely share a close bond on and off the ice, and their ability to trust each other is what makes them so amazing to watch.

Whether they perform to a song as beautiful as “My Heart Will Go On” or something a little less romantic, their performances are always amazing, and they always have the audience on the edge of their seats.
