In a time where social distancing and isolation are the new norms, maybe you’ve finally been convinced to download the popular social media app TikTok.
If so, welcome! There’s a wild world out there, and it’s never been easier to share your moves with the world.
If the social currency on Instagram is equivalent to latte art and avocado toast, then surely it is dancing across TikTok. One quick hop on the app and you’re instantly flooded with a vast array of 15-20 second dance-clips. Who’s dancing? The question is more or less: Who isn’t dancing?
Videos commonly feature teenagers and 20-somethings shaking it to various songs. More often than not, they get their partners, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and even grandmothers in on the action. Often, their made-up choreography becomes infectious, catches on and takes the internet by storm. It doesn’t take too long for one dance to become a challenge, and then even celebrities cashed in on the trend.
Such was the case for the viral “Baby Mama Dance.”
Out of all the dance trends, this one has a fascinating niche—expecting women in the final stages of pregnancy groove around the camera to the beat of “Baby Mama” by Starrkeisha. And the results are hilarious.
Labor is fast-approaching, and mothers are dancing their way right into it!

Starrkeisha may have very well helped this trend right along, as she encourages expecting mothers in her song to “drop it down low.”
Some mothers didn’t have to think twice to take her twerking advice. As they groove with their big bellies, often their partners dancing around them lip-sync to the song the whole time to cheer them on!
The “Baby Mama Dance” has exploded across every social media platform, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
One of the funniest set of contenders to enter the scene? Elle and Grahm Naudet.
After they uploaded their comical dance entry to YouTube they stole the show with more than six million views and 57,000 likes.
One watch and you’ll see just what the internet is swooning over!
The video features a very pregnant Elle confidently shaking it all to the beat of the song.
But just wait until her sweetheart Graham enters the frame! As he dances around her, hilarity ensues.
Together, they celebrate life in the funniest of ways.
Elle’s YouTube channel is filled with vlogs documenting her life as a mother.
According to her ‘About’ page:
“AYYYY It’s anotha day with the Naudet’s!! Subscribe to see more funny and cute videos from the family! We are a crazy teen family! You never know what you’re going to get! Graham and I are teen parents. We got pregnant with our beautiful baby girl, Lacey Marie, who is now four when we were just 16 years old! We married young at just 17 and have been married for going on 4 years now! In 2017 we had our baby boy, Wolf Russell! and in 2019 we had our son Forest.”
And there’s no better way to commemorate a new life than with a good dance-off. With any luck, this groove helped Elle ease right into labor. Expecting mothers, take note! Dancing might just be the way to do it.
