It’s that month again! The month that starts off the holiday feels for most people. And when the holiday vibes arrive, people are happier. There are so many things to look forward to. September is a great month. So much so that a song was named after it. You know which one!
“September” was released in 1978 by Earth, Wind, and Fire. It’s a fantastic, upbeat song that’s become timeless. It’s almost always on playlists during weddings, parties, clubs, and the like. For the sole reason that it’s awesome to dance to.
Did someone say dance?
Check out Jisoo Yu and David Hart from the UNC Moonlight Dance Crew. It looks to be a practice session but if this is just practice then imagine how insane these two are in an actual performance. They’ve got matching Adidas sweats on but what’s even more striking are those smiles.
So that familiar funky twang of the guitar comes in and Yu and Hart begin a sideways squat and shoulder shimmy step that goes along with the count of the melody. Tell me you’re not bopping your head.
Do you remember?
The beat comes in, the trumpets blare, and Jisoo and David spin their arms and pump one up in the air while they alternate their legs along to the increasing tempo of the mega classic. Those smiles haven’t disappeared.
If this is how they remember the 21st night of September then please, keep going! The two dancers begin a quick step sequence to the first verse, using their hands to add a bit of flavor to their very cool footwork.
So nice you’ll play it thrice.
Or more. A funky spin with power hip shakes, a few alternating gestures here and there, and already Jisoo and David have everybody’s attention. The choreography is pretty unique to say the least. It really is cool!
Ba Dee Ya!
This truly is a song that instantly brightens up the mood. From the moment it starts up to the very end, listeners are just transported to some make believe place where everything is perfectly perfect. The 21st could be anyone’s date to remember!
It’s RnB, Funk, Pop, Disco, Soul and whatever else you want to throw at it because who cares?
With a little over 5 million views, Jisoo and David have fans. One says,
“That fact that they were so into it and enjoying it all while absolutely nailing the choreography made this extremely enjoyable to watch.”
It’s a teaser.
Yu and Hart don’t dance to the entire song. They finish by the end of the first chorus but it’s more than enough to get people cheering and clapping. They’ve just witnessed a stunning display of talent for about a minute or so. Who’s next?
“This is so cute, I love how they’re just having so much fun and smiling the whole time.”
Says another viewer.
Jisoo’s energy is so contagious it’s hard not to smile and dance along when you watch her. You can tell how much she loves dancing just by seeing her move and smile. David’s got that vibe too. Imagine how awesome it would be to watch these two on an actual stage. Maybe on the 21st?
