I’ve mentioned in the past how dancing is more than just a show.

It can tell a story as well. We’ve seen some heart-pounding, thought-provoking stories told through dance.

Of course, not all of them have to be emotional.

Some can be on the side of cute and casual. This one here is one such dance.

Sit back and watch Joseph Tsosh and Alisa T. bring the lyrics to life with their dance cover of “Stand By Me.”

This classic from Ben E. King oozes with love and good vibes.

It’s an R&B classic with a bouncy bassline and loving lyrics.

The lyrics are simple. “No I won’t be afraid, no I won’t be afraid Just as long as you stand, stand by me.”

With the person you love by your side, you’ve got little reason to be scared.

Well, there couldn’t have been a better choice of dancers for this.

Joseph and Alissa are a couple themselves.

And they bring that loving energy into their dance.

From the moment they pop and lock together in sync, you can tell these two love each other to bits.

Joseph guides Alissa’s movements, and she glides into him like she doesn’t even have to look.

That same synchronized strutting continues as they shift to the left side of the stage (well, our left) and continue the popping and locking. They match the beat to perfection while looking good doing it.

Take a look at Alisa’s face as they dance. She’s got the biggest smile. You can see the love in her eyes whenever she looks at Joseph.

Joseph and Alisa strut and move across the floor again until the song reaches its namesake lyrics.

When the words “stand by me” are finally sung, the pair acts out an adorable scene of Joseph attempting to stand next to Alisa. Alisa then tries to move away while Joseph comedically shuffles after her.

On the surface, it seems silly. But really, it’s pretty on-theme for the song both literally and emotionally.

And when the lyrics about “the sky that we look upon” come on, the pair strike a cute pose and look up at the “sky” together.

The pair began dating in 2016. Brought together by their love for dance, they’ve performed together for years with unmatched chemistry.

Chemistry is easy to come by when you love each other this much.

The song choice lends itself well to this too. Ben E. King’s R&B hit has had several resurgences in popularity throughout his life.

It was a hit in the ’60s, and it rose to fame again several more times in the ’80s, ’90s, and even the 21st century.

It really does just seem like a timeless song that couples of all generations can enjoy.

And speaking of couples, Joseph and Alisa are a lot more than dance partners now. Over on Instagram, they shared a photo of Alisa in an engagement ring. I guess she said yes!
