We all remember the 21st night of September, don’t we? I don’t know many people who aren’t familiar with the song.

And if they don’t know it, are they even worth your time?

Earth, Wind, and Fire boast some of the funkiest songs you’ll ever hear, and people have been cooking up dance numbers for the songs ever since they released.

“Let’s Groove Tonight” isn’t just a song title, it’s a demand. When you hear Earth, Wind and Fire, you have to dance.

Of course, “September” is an all-time favorite too.

“September” is a pretty high-energy song demanding similarly high-energy dance. Luckily, Jisoo Yu and David Hart have plenty to spare.

It’s also more than just a groovy song. It was added to the National Recording Registry as a culturally and historically-significant song by the Library of Congress.

It’s a piece of our culture now!

Jisoo Yu quite the multitalented lady.

She’s a visual artist as well as a dancer, so Jisoo’s got quite the resume to show any employer.

David Hart, however, doesn’t have a website or an Instagram page to showcase his skills.

He’ll just have to let his performance in this video speak for itself.

Jisoo and David already warm up with some boogeying. A bit of grooving in the hips and shoulders to loosen up, like any good dancer does.

And after that warm-up of an intro, the duo dial it up to really match the energy of the song.

You wanna see dance?

Well, they’re about to show you.

That starts with a groovy march towards the front, some spinning, and some side-to-side swaying and popping.

Jisoo’s smile is pretty bright the whole time too, which makes it a lot more fun to watch.

There’s more quickstepping, hip-shaking, and twirling to follow up on that. UNC Moonlight Dance Crew is the organization they belong to, and they had the right idea letting these two join.

Probably not just for the dancing, but also the positive vibes all around.

Dance should be fun, after all. If you’re not popping a smile once in a while, you might be doing something wrong.

And when you thought the energy was high already, just wait for the chorus.

Cause once it hits, the two show how much dancing they really know.

It’s high-kick into hip-shake, into another high-kick, into a disco mixer and some hip-thrusting. All condensed into the 7-10 seconds that the chorus plays.

It takes a heck of a lot of endurance and practice to dance like that, and that’s why Jisoo and David are some of the best.

The other students and instructors loved their energy and their moves, and give them a huge round of applause.

To think this video is 6 years-old today and is still getting views is nuts. A good performance will always age really well.
