How do you feel about country music? While not everyone is a huge fan, those who live out in the country may relate to its themes of family, tradition and patriotism. Still, even if you’re not a huge country fan, this story about country artist Kane Brown is truly remarkable. For those who don’t know, Kane Brown is a 24-year-old country artist signed with RCA Nashville.

Though he’s had many successful singles around the world, there’s one music video he made recently that has been making the rounds on social media.

In the video for his song “Homesick,” Brown decided to do something a little bit ambitious.

Rather than just shoot a standard story he a video, he decided to pay his respects. Because the song itself was a tribute to the pain and sacrifice Brown sometimes felt while performing on the road, he decided to extend that comparison a little further. Just like his own distance from home, Brown reflected on the military servicemen and women, as well as their families, who had to go through the same thing. As a result, he decided to make the video give back as much as possible. It begins with a message:

“This video is dedicated to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces. Thank you California National Guard and to those who submitted their personal videos.”

As it begins, Brown is seen greeting a number of servicemen and women before cutting away to personal videos.

In the first, a man is reunited with his baby daughter. In another, a man is reunited with his dog. In another, a man hugs his wife and his daughter. Throughout the video are edited many different submitted videos of military families finally reuniting. Of particular note is one in which a man playing basketball for Notre Dame is reunited with his brother during half time!

So far, the video has earned nearly two million views on YouTube and is making waves on social media.

The end of the video has another special message for some of the people filmed in it:

“Thank you to the California Army National Guard at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, Southern California.”

For fans of country music, Brown’s new video is a must-see—though it’s a nice reminder for anyone about the sacrifices of the military.

Although we all have periods of time where we feel distant or disconnected from our family members and loved ones, military personnel are made to do this for extended periods at a time. Although brief business trips and things like that end quickly and are without any real danger, the same can’t be said for the Armed Forces. In all, Brown has made a catchy song that is sure to speak to millions of people with the perfect video to match.
