One of the best parts about reality TV talent shows is you’ll never know what you’ll get.

Contestants pull out their most memorable pieces to clinch the chance of having a shot at fame and fortune.

The hit TV Show The Voice: Generations is a spin-off of The Voice.

The only difference is that the former launched entire families to stardom.

In one episode, a family made a performance that judges will never forget.

From the moment they marched into the stage, the O’Donnells captured the hearts of the audience.

As the crowds cheered, the judges became more curious about the family.

Guy Sebastian, an Australian singer and one of the judges, even said that he’d regret it if the family turned out to be the most adorable contestants because he had already completed his team.

It turns out, the family is so much more than “adorable.”

As the music played, the judges turned to Keith Urban, another judge, because of the family’s country and bluegrass tune.

The family reimagined Lady Gaga’s hit song “Edge of Glory.” The version was incredibly special because it was accompanied by a ringing banjo and well-harmonized lyrics.

It was definitely out of the box but the family performed their song so well.

The band started when John and Wendy met in the United States during the 80s. They settled in Cairns in Australia and raised their family there.

The couple performed with different bands like Snake Gully Ensemble and the Sunshine Mountain Bluegrass Band.

But the O’Donnells truly came together in 2009 when they had to perform as a family after their band failed to show up.

They released a self-titled album in 2010.

Their main influences include classic bluegrass, county music, and gospel. Then, 12 years later, the family joined The Voice: Generations.

Not wanting to let the family slip away, Urban pressed his buzzer to turn his chair. In front of him was Amy, one of the youngest contestants to ever perform in the show.

People all over the internet shared their reactions.

“Aww! How freaking beautiful I love when an artist changes a song and makes it sound like a totally different song than the original.” Said one comment.

“Absolutely fantastic!” said another, “Had to watch it about 10 times on my lunch break! Love Nanna rocking on the guitar and Pop smashing the banjo!”

“Wow, such a beautiful family! So much talent good on Keith for recognizing this.” said another.

At the end of their performance, you can truly say that “it runs in the family.”

As the kids continue to grow, we hope they also develop a love for music much like their parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Who knows, they might just continue the musical tradition of their family.

You can catch the latest news from the family on their Instagram account where they post the gigs and projects that are keeping them busy.
