School pep rallies are the best. But this one was interrupted by the police.

The entire energy of the room shifted when cops ran in.

It went from high-energy student-run pep rally to even more fun when the cops joined in with their too-cool-for-school moves.

We definitely couldn’t pass up an opportunity to review this Florida high school’s take on this viral sensation viewed by nearly 5.5 million people!

The Pep Rally Begins

The gym’s packed to the brim with students and faculty waiting to be wowed, or maybe they’re simply enjoying their free pass from 7th period.

My money is on the latter.

Nothing could make my seventeen-year-old self more excited than knowing I had a pep rally to attend instead of calculus.

But little does everyone know just what’s to come!

Catchy beat? Check.

Sick dance moves even your parents could do and simple enough to remember all of the steps ten years later? Check and check.

This one’s bound to make an appearance in high school homecoming dances for years to come!

Electric who?

As with most high school pep rallies, we expect a powerful performance by none other than the school’s biggest fans – the cheerleaders.

The cheerleaders and their faithful sidekicks, the football team, begin the dance with a casual two-step.

Speaking of which – are you looking for an activity to get both the kids and grandparents off the couch?

Well, we have a solution for you – The Git Up Challenge.

The Git Up Challenge took the nation by storm in 2019 with millions of hits on Youtube, TikTok, and even a performance on The Today Show.

Millions of Americans have danced along to the family-friendly country crossover.

From young kids to firemen and news anchors – everyone is in on the fun!

Including… the police.

Just a few moments into the song, there’s a surprise appearance.

The students disperse!

Four special guests take center court. They’re looking to bust some of their own moves!

It’s the Sheriff’s Department!

“The Git Up” continues.

The cops get off to a shaky start, but they seem to be finding the hang of it.

They redeem themselves with a strong slide followed by an even stronger twirl.

That’s impressive!

These boys in blue have moves!

They seem to be enjoying themselves.

And so is the audience! This isn’t your typical pep rally!

But just when you thought they were all out of surprises, there’s more!

Much, much more.

Is… is that a T. rex?!

But wait… there’s even more!

Is that another T. Rex?

Wow, this high school knows how to throw a pep rally!

Look who’s back from extinction and ready to steal the show!

They slide left, then right, then round and round.

There’s nothing quite like watching a prehistoric carnivore dropping it low in a high school gymnasium.

Am I right, or am I right?

“The Git Up” has no bounds!

We get a two-step, hoedown, slide, and dip all mashed into one.

Those T. rexes are like little ballerinas out there!
