Move over, lip sync battles – Officer Philip Paz from the Oklahoma City Police Department just dropped the mic, and the internet can’t stop buzzing about it.

This cop has taken social media by storm, turning a routine patrol into a legendary lip sync performance that even earned him not only attention from locals and the people of the internet but from a legendary artist as well.
One thing that’s great about jobs is that people have an alternate life.
Officer Paz is a gallant police officer often dressed in uniform with a pair of reflective shades, cruising through the city streets in his squad car.
But behind the blue uniforms is a star just waiting to be discovered.
The internet didn’t expect that it would become an avenue for a one-man show that would make even the most stoic officer groove to the beat.
It all started when “lip-sync challenges” became popular.
Assigned the challenge of participating in the law enforcement lip sync battle that’s been causing a stir, Paz decided to crank it up a notch.
Instead of the usual lip-sync routine, he threw everyone a curveball – he sang along to Lionel Richie’s classic hit, “Easy.”
The video, shot inside his patrol car, kicks off with Paz looking all serious and professional.
But just as you thought you knew what was about to happen, a mischievous grin breaks free, setting the stage for an unexpected serenade.
From the opening notes to the closing lines, Paz belts out the entire song with a silky smooth tone that could give Lionel Richie a run for his money.

The video quickly went viral.
The video, which was posted on Facebook last 2018, catapulted Officer Paz into internet stardom. The video got 8.1 million views with 272,000 likes and 42,000 comments!
With these numbers it didn’t take too long before Lionel Richie, the maestro himself, stumbled upon Paz’s performance.
In awe of Paz’s vocal prowess, Richie dubbed him an “American Idol” and shared his video on his Facebook account as well.
