He may be a toughie on the bike, patrolling the streets of LA ala CHiPS, but he’s not Ponch. The man’s name is Booker. Riding the streets of LA daily can get to a guy so it’s only natural for a man to let loose every once in awhile.

Even when he’s in uniform.
Officer Booker stopped by a Cuban American Music Festival. But he wasn’t there just for the food or drinks. Booker in complete uniform and gear, took a little time off to show the men and women present that a big, bad, tough guy like him can dance.
The man in leathers can salsa! Belt, holster, boots, and whatever else is on his huge frame, the patrol officer dips and shakes his way around a small space with a woman. Getting spicy!

Booker is armed and dangerous.
Dangerous on a dance floor. He’s got ridiculous moves. The kind of moves you would not expect from a cop. Pretty sure people stopped the partying when he pulled up too.

They must have thought something was up and the cop was looking for someone. Official business. He was looking for a good time!
Viewer Peter Scheen says,
“This too is keeping law and order. A good police officer mingles with the people and in doing so is able to be part of the community and gets more things done. This is the way police should be.”
He has a real good point.

Whether Booker knew about the party, or he was just riding by and caught a whiff of the food, is anyone’s guess. Perfect time for a stopover and a break from work. A dip here and a beer there wouldn’t hurt either!
See that pistol by his side? Well his salsa moves are deadlier than that nine millimetre!

Riding a bike gets the body stiff. Booker had to loosen up!
Now look at his partner’s face. The woman is all smiles. Who knew that a cop could move like that? Phones out, everybody! Even the LAPD posted this video. Keep going, Booker!

That’s one way of keeping the party’s theme alive! Salsa is a mixture of different dances and musical techniques that was developed in Cuba. It’s weight changing on your feet with style.
Another viewer commented,
“People keep talking like cops aren’t people with lives outside of the police force. Dude been cutting up a long time to have those skills.”
Booker’s had tons of practice for sure!

To ride a bike, you need excellent body control and motor skills. It requires the balancing of forces and shifting of weight. Did that help Booker’s salsa skills? Maybe. It certainly looks like a hobby to him.

That festival must have been elevated to another level of awesome when this cop showed up. Take a wild guess as to how much food and drinks they gave him after this salsa magic of his.
So the next time you find yourself attending a Latin American party of sorts, look around because you might find officer Booker stepping and twirling in his shiny boots. He may teach you a thing or two. Because being a cop is still cool.
