The world is currently suffering from the spread of COVID-19.
As everyone is instructed to stay at home, we have our battles on how to fend off boredom. Fortunately, as this video shows, if you’re looking for a perfect way to spend your time, why not teach your kids how to play instruments?
Playing music can be a fun recreational activity or a hobby to develop with your family as you stay inside your homes during the quarantine.
If you have an instrument to spare, you also have plenty of time to teach everyone how to play them!
For example, this family used their time at home to record songs together.
The people in this video are the Clark Family.
As this clip shows, this family had so much spare time on their hands because of the implemented shelter-in-place order that they used it to record song covers and post it on YouTube. The couple Colt and Aubree Clark are clearly doing their best to cope with the current situation by filming Colt and their kids singing together.
Before the quarantine started, Colt was a full-time musician who used to play seven gigs a week.
By the same token, Aubree worked as a photographer and as a homeschooler to their three children, namely Belle, Beckett and Cash.
Unfortunately, when the pandemic struck, they were left without a choice but to lock themselves at home and put a pause on their day jobs.
Still, they turned this into a perfect time to bond and have fun with their family. One of the songs they did was “Baba O’Riley” by the classic rock band The Who.
Their band was called Colt Clark and the Quarantine Kids.
Colt starts the video off by introducing himself. Belle is strapped with a pink electric guitar while her brother Beckett is sitting on his cajon. Meanwhile, Cash and his father are both on their own acoustic guitars.
The kids did the song’s intro by brushing their lips with their fingers as they hummed.
As Colt gives the signal, they all proceed to play their instruments—even the young Belle, who does her best to act with her guitar and dance along with them at the same time.
The video is definitely adorable on its own, but they also sounded so good that they could be an actual performing band!
As Colt sings the song, his kids do a great job accompanying him with their instruments.
Young as these kids are, you really cannot deny that they are talented. The kids enjoyed their time playing the song together with their father—and also with Aubree, who was filming them.
They caught the internet’s attention after they decided to make the videos open for all on YouTube.
The channel Colt Clark and the Quarantine Kids was created on April 7, 2020.
Since then, they were able to rack up eight million total views on their videos, and their subscription count continues to rise. “Initially the videos were private until a few friends asked if they could share them with their families,” Aubree wrote on their channel description. “So we decided to make them public.”
Even today, they are constantly posting new performances online!
