While the pandemic has undoubtedly caused millions of people to shelter-in-place and stay indoors, it has not crushed their spirits.
In fact, many in isolation have tried to view the circumstance in a positive light. Instead, families are taking quarantine as an opportunity to grow closer and spend time together.
One such family is the Clark family from Tampa, Florida. They’re also known as Colt Clark and the Quarantine Kids.
With concerts and music events indefinitely canceled, the Clark family made the playful decision to form their own at-home band. Consisting of Colt Clark and his three kids, their recent online performances are stealing hearts and taking names.
Clark’s job as a professional musician is currently on hold, but his spirits are high.
The adorable living room band consists of Clark, his two sons, and his daughter. Not surprisingly, they’ve seemingly inherited a musical talent gene from their father. And together, their combined talents really set the stage on fire!
And when Aubree Clark, mother and wife, decided to get behind the camera and film their performances, the internet reveled in delight!
Aubree revealed in a statement from their YouTube channel:
“Colt is used to playing seven gigs a week, and with the shelter-in-place order, his normal workload completely disappeared. To take our minds off of everything going in on the world, Colt and I decided to film some videos of Colt playing music with the kids everyday and share them with our family and friends that we weren’t able to see because of the virus.”
While she never thought she’d go on to share the videos outside of their circle, the family has been able to spread joy across the internet.
“Initially the videos were private until a few friends asked if they could share them with their families, so we decided to make them public. It took off from there. We had no idea that these videos would bring so many people so much joy, and how the positive messages, and comments we’ve received would in turn, bring us so much joy.”
The family has been hard at work, covering classic hits and uploading them every couple of days to their YouTube channel, which has amassed a following of 96.3 thousand subscribers!
It’s adorable and amazing to watch them play through beloved classics such as “Old Time Rock-n-Roll,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” and “Dancing in the Dark.” Watch one video and you’ll be dancing and singing along in no time!
Every Wednesday in the Clark household is “Beatles Wednesday.” Their recent cover of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” has the internet on fire.
While Colt handles the vocals and lead guitar, his sons Cash and Beckett appear next to him on the bass and drums. The ever-adorable six-year-old Bellamy introduces the tune and captures our hearts with the most lovable dance moves.
The Clark family’s Beatles cover is pure rock and roll bliss.
It’s purely impossible not to smile while watching them in action! Colt’s background as a musician shines through as his talents are brought front and center. He even makes use of a kazoo! His talented sons accompany him perfectly, while his tiny dancer lights it up with her sassy, cute moves.
Since being posted on YouTube, the video has had over 350,000 views and 19,000 likes.
While the family never prepared for such success, they have welcomed the flood of positivity and are happy to continue to give it back.
A friend has set up a virtual tip jar for the family via Go Fund Me that is currently active. With certainty, it’s touching to see this family making the best of quarantine. Their performances offer a bright light in uncertain times. And follow along on their YouTube channel and Facebook page for more updates.
