Some proposals are just too good to miss.

Love inspires people in all sorts of different ways, which is why love-struck boyfriends are always looking for new and innovative ways to propose to their girlfriends. The singer in this video also happens to be a USC alum—and he decided to use his talent to pull off a spectacular surprise proposal—along with the help of 100 other singers from his acappella group.

Alex planned the “Pitch Perfect” marriage proposal for his girlfriend that he met as USC, and he went massively viral for it.

Alex and Anna met at USC and remained friends for seven years after college before realizing they were in love. After that, they started dating. When it came time for Alex to propose, he knew Anna loved it when he sang to her…so he decided to incorporate it in the proposal.

Back in 2014 when this video took place, Anna thought Alex was just taking her to see an acapella show at USC—but there was a special reason for the occasion.

After the acappella performance ended, one of the singers “randomly” selected Alex and Anna to come on stage.

When they get onstage, Alex picks a song for the USC acapella team to sing to Anna and that song was “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli.

The whole team of singers begins singing the touching love song to Anna as she sits in a chair with no idea that Alex is about to propose to her.

That’s when Alex takes the mic from the acapella team and starts serenading Anna.

With the entire acapella team backing him up and cheering him on, Alex serenades the love of his life in the most touching way.

Alex and the acapella team put a lot of time and effort into the surprise proposal, after he approached the team for their help, they practiced vigorously to make it as perfect as possible.

Alex explained the surprise in detail online on How They Asked:

“She loves when I sing to her, so I started there. I reached out to all the music groups at USC and landed in the capable hands of the A Capella community. It started with a meeting with one member of one group, but as I told him my ideas I could see his eyes lighting up with excitement. This snowballed into meetings with the other groups, which ended in more excitement, and over 100 voices at my disposal.”

After Alex and the singers performed for Anna, he took her by the hand and walked her to the middle of the stage.

By that point in the video, Anna is starting to realize that something bigger is going on and the tears roll down her cheeks. He finishes up serenading his girlfriend before the real reason they’re there comes to light.
