Dancing at home is one thing. But for some, having the chance to demonstrate your skills on stage provides an extra amount of thrill.
The six pairs below were participants in the Clogging Champions of America (CCA) competition.
While they’re all different, each couple was named a champion in the duet category!
To add to the excitement, they were all brought in front of the audience for a clogging showdown. What makes this video special is that you get to see a variety of performers light up the stage with their talent.
Who’s ready for some clogging? The little ladies on the left are up first.
Clogging is a folk dance that’s full of high-energy and is quite entertaining to watch. CCA welcomes dancers of all levels to join and compete in the style – and these girls are likely just starting out. They step into the spotlight holding hands and moving their feet in a synchronized fashion. For being so young, they’re actually quite good!
At one point, the kids stop for a moment and play a quick hand-clapping game. Okay, perhaps they should get additional points for cuteness.
The second duo really picks up the pace.
Dressed in the same outfits, the dancers fly into action with their fancy footwork. They stay in perfect unison clogging to the bluegrass song that’s playing in the background. According to the ClogOn website – “clog” means “time” in Gaelic, and the style is practiced “in time” with the sound of the music.
Lauren and Kaylee Thomas are the third pair of champions to show off their skills.
The blonde sisters are from Kentucky and they’ve both been dancing since they were young. Together they’ve racked up numerous awards and have made television appearances on programs like Nickelodeon’s Figure it Out and The Gong Show. In the video below, you’ll get to see how talented they are.
It’s time to see what kind of skills the fourth duo has up their sleeves.
What makes this couple unique is they’re the only ones with a male participant. The amount of energy they have is incredible and how flawlessly they stay synchronized is too. In fact, the entire showdown is non-stop quick movements!

Here comes CCA’s fifth set of clogging champions.
Like the others, the duo sets the stage on fire with their lightning-fast feet, keeping big smiles on their faces. Although clogging isn’t a style that many of us see too often – it’s deeply rooted in the Appalachian culture and is even Kentucky’s official state dance.
These ladies in sparkly pink have obviously been doing a lot of practicing together!
Last (but certainly not least) is the sixth pair of dancers.
While we’re not sure of the ages of the participants, the girls appear to be younger than some of the others. Yet, that doesn’t mean they’re not amazing cloggers! They’re a total blast to watch as they take their turn in the spotlight.
Everyone gets to dance on stage in a line at the end of the showdown. Unfortunately, they don’t announce the “winner” at the closing of the video – but really, getting to see all of the different clogging champions perform is really cool!
