Many of us love to dance as it brings people together. Regardless of the dance genres, dance performances are always enjoyable to watch.
There are new dance crazes that we see all over the internet. On TikTok, which is a famous video-sharing app, you’ll find dance videos that would hype you up.
But if you will also try to watch classic genres online, there are also many of them and they can certainly entertain you.
Just like this step dance that started in 18th century England during the Industrial Revolution.
It’s Clog dancing and according to Wikipedia, clog dancers wear inflexible and wooden-soled clogs. They also wear brightly colored costumes that make the whole presentation delightful to the eyes.
This dance is also being done “in time with the music -to the downbeat usually with the heel keeping rhythm”. The good thing is lots of people still do this classic dance.
This dance has evolved over the years and Clog On compares how Clog dance is being performed before with how it’s being done nowadays.
“Clogging today is less impromptu and more complicated than the simple rhythmic dance begun by our ancestors. New influences are creeping into the dance because of popular culture.”
The site also mentioned other dance genres that are being integrated to clog dance by some dancers.
“Tap dancing, Canadian Step Dancing, Irish Hard Shoe, and even street dancing and hip-hop influences are being seen to bear on the style of steps and dances performed by cloggers today.”
This dance group performed at the Cherokee Clogging Competition.
They’re the NC Stompers and the clip of their astounding performance was posted on YouTube. They were wearing lovely traditional clogging dresses.
As they pose on the stage, we can see that they’re set to entertain the audience.
And when they begin to stomp their feet, they apparently own the stage. Not to mention that all of them are flashing beautiful smiles.
They hop here and there, their heel steps are on-point.
Their kick steps are flawless, too.
Each one of these girls clearly contributed to their amazing performance. None of them made even a single mistake. You can tell that they really worked hard to come up with such a magnificent performance.
You can tell that each one of them have gone through extensive dance training even most of them are still young. And of course, all of them undeniably have the talent as they all shine on stage.
When they’re done with their performance, the audience applauded them – which they truly deserve. And online, their video has been viewed over 5,000 times.
