The human body is a quite extraordinary thing, especially when people really take the time to treat it well, work out regularly, and build their levels of strength, balance, agility, and stamina to truly push themselves beyond their normal limits.
It’s inspiring to see these people in action, to see what humans can truly be capable of when they push themselves all the way, and these two acrobats and dancers are a shining example of just how far we can go.
The pair are known as the ‘USA Duo’, with ‘USA’ in this case standing for Urban Style Acrobatic. They hail from Ukraine, with years of circus training behind them, and their names are Oleg Kolisnichenko and Julia Nos. Here, we see them using their acrobatic and gymnastic skills to beautiful effect in a moving and powerful dance routine.
A subdued beat begins as the video opens on an industrial warehouse scene. Julia walks in slowly from the right, taking her place in the center of the stage, before her male partner, Oleg, runs in from the opposite side, taking his place beside her.
And thus begins one of the most moving blends of dance and acrobatics you’ll see all year!
Right from the start, we get an idea of the theme of this performance, as Julia tries to elegantly glide away before Oleg pulls her harshly back. Later, she finally does break free and he has to chase after her while she pushes him away.
The routine continues in this manner, with both the male and female members of the duo repeatedly abandoning and then returning to one another.
Like star-cross’d lovers experiencing pain and passion all at once, they just can’t stay away from one another.
It’s a theme that has appeared in many dance routines over the years, but it’s done stunningly here thanks to the unique movements, balances, and acrobatic grace of the two performers.
Time and time again, they blow our minds with their movements and positions, with both members showing off some truly breathtaking and almost physics-defying abilities throughout their performance.
And as the show goes on, it seems that their actions only become even more impressive, with Julia standing right on top of Oleg’s head on several occasions, gracefully balancing on just one hand or one foot as he maintains his strong and steady posture beneath her.
Towards the end of the performance, the pair separate, standing at opposite ends of their industrial dancefloor, before Julia dives towards her partner once more and they launch into another series of spins, lumps, jumps, and elegant acrobatic poses that leave our jaws on the floor.
It’s absolutely amazing to see Oleg and Julia in action, and they deserve all the credit in the world for the hard work, dedication, and passion they put into this performance. They’re a pair of remarkable performers, extraordinary athletes, and inspiring people, and this is the sort of routine that you just want to watch again and again. The director of the piece, Aleksandr Golovnia, also deserves a round of applause, and you can see all of the trio’s hard work in action down below.
