Cimorelli is an all-sister music group that can be compared to a choir of angels. Just in time for the holiday season, they released a breathtaking cover of the song, “Mary Did You Know,” that’s lighting up the internet.

If you haven’t heard Cimorelli before, be prepared to be soothed by their voices and a cappella style. These sisters are showing the world that musical talent runs deep in their family.

Christmas has many elements that leave us feeling all warm inside, with music being one of them. Everywhere you go, the classic carols fill the air – but thanks to the internet, we’re given the chance to hear new versions as well.

“Mary Did You Know” has become a holiday favorite in many households and has been sung by a variety of artists. Cimorelli’s rendition sounds like it comes from the heavens up above.

The group consists of six sisters between the ages of 19 and 29, currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee. Originally they’re from Northern, California, where they grew up being taught the piano and how to sing by their pianist mother (they actually have five brothers too).

Cimorelli started out small, but the door to fame opened up after one of their videos went viral on YouTube. They continued with their musical creations and eventually signed with a record label.

Since then, they’ve evolved into a successful ensemble that sends positive messages to their fans – with their Catholic faith being their guiding force. Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy, Lauren, and Dani are the group’s members and they now run their business themselves.

Over the years, they’ve released covers of popular tunes such as Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” and have also created their own original music as well. By no surprise, Cimorelli’s heavenly sound also pairs well with Christmas tunes.

They’ve sung classics like “Silent Night,” “Carol of the Bells,” and “Oh Holy Night.”

In less than two weeks, Cimorelli’s version of “Mary Did You Know” has been viewed more than 900,000 times (and growing) on their YouTube channel, which has over five million subscribers.

The video takes place in the woods with the six sisters standing all in a row. From the very beginning, they show their incredible ability to harmonize together, producing a sound that’s chilling.

Amy begins with the lyrics that consist of questions to Mary about her Son, Jesus Christ.

She sings:

“Mary did you know, that your baby boy would one day walk on water?”

The oldest sister, Christina, then takes over with the line:

“Mary did you know, that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?”

Each group member’s voice is beautiful on its own, but when combined together, the results are on a completely different level. Despite being in an outdoor setting – their sound reminds you of an angelic choir singing in a church.

“I have heard so many covers of this song but I never heard one like this. It’s just perfect in every way, every note, and the harmonies Omgosh the harmonies from the lowest to the highest is just stunning!”
