On his talk show, Jimmy Fallon often has his guests do different fun challenges. When he has talented singers on, he usually has them do the Wheel of Musical Impressions. In this hilarious game, musicians are given a singer to impersonate and a random song to sing.
When Christina Aguilera stopped by Fallon’s show, he had her do this challenge. She knocked it out of the park!
Aguilera was a bit nervous as the wheel started spinning. But when it landed on Cher and the “Folgers Coffee Jingle”, she knew what to do.
Aguilera immediately launched into a pitch-perfect Cher impression. The audience and Fallon both laughed and cheered as Aguilera put her all into singing, “The best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup.”
After that, Fallon was up. He landed on David Bowie and “Grand Old Flag.” Fallon did a great impersonation of The White Duke—he was able to bring in his unique inflections.
Then, it was Aguilera’s turn again. She landed on an odd combo—Britney Spears and “This Little Piggy.” Even though the combo was strange, Aguilera again gave it her all. She sang “This Little Piggy” to the tune of “Hit Me Baby One More Time” and sounded just like Britney Spears!
After that, Fallon did a good impression of Michael MacDonald singing “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” Then, Aguilera ended the segment by impersonating Shakira singing “The Golden Girls Theme.” Aguilera was very excited by this—she said “The Golden Girls” was one of her favorite shows.
Over 84 million people have watched Aguilera take on the Wheel of Musical Impressions, making it one of Fallon’s most-viewed videos of all time!
Commenters absolutely loved Aguilera’s impressions of these famous singers. Many people even joked that Aguilera sounded more like Britney Spears than Britney Spears!
Other fans loved Aguilera’s spot-on Cher impression. They said that this impression showed what a gifted singer she was.
Fallon has done a few more Wheel of Musical Impressions with some well-known singers.
In 2017, he had Alicia Keys on and had her do an impression of Gwen Stefani singing “Miss Mary Mack” and Adele singing “The Alphabet Song.” She brought some incredible emotion to these classic children’s songs.
Fallon also had Ariana Grande take a swing at the Wheel of Musical Impressions. She also broke out some amazing impressions, including Britney Spears, Celine Dion, and Christina Aguilera herself!
