As sure as the world turns, so do our lives intertwine in aspects unknown and unseen to the human eye.
Different races, religions, and belief systems make up the planet and unfortunately, have been some of the reasons for war and persecution. And yet it has been proven time and again that we can all coexist.
All one needs is to say a prayer.
Prayers rise up in all corners of the planet regardless of personal beliefs. Admit it or not, there is this mystical strength to prayer. Similar to how music affects the human psyche.
So what happens when prayer and music are combined?
“The Prayer” was originally written and recorded for the film, Quest For Camelot. Two versions were recorded. One in English for Celine Dion, and one in Italian for Andrea Bocelli.
The song rose to fame when Dion and Bocelli performed together in 2011.
A duet so powerful ignited a craze, with many other artists scrambling to record their own renditions. Even church choirs in different countries had a go at this stunning piece.
The One Voice Children’s Choir were not to be outdone.
To get their message across, they shot a video capturing random moments in different places around our planet. It amplifies the fact that we are all one, living under a power we cannot see.
The group itself is non-denominational. Founded in 2001, the choir has grown and established themselves as real artists with talent they are willing to share to whoever is listening.
The choir is joined by Mindy Smoot Robbins and Dallyn Vail Bayles.
Robbins and Bayles are members of the Latter-day Saints, both sharing their immense talents in enhancing the choir’s sound and feel. Mindy is a Broadway performer who goes out of her way to teach aspiring actors and singers.
Dallyn is also in theater, and with a voice like that, it’s no surprise he uses his talents to profess his faith. He’s an accomplished musician and actor himself, all while balancing family life and church.
From the majestic walls of a cathedral, to shots of families praying together, the music video is a touching reminder that we are all connected.
Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and many others seem to be joined together for this near five minute video showcasing just how truly magnificent the world is when seen with hope and love.
A viewer named Serena Lee commented,
“Sometimes I wonder how God would feel about all the stories and prayers of us when we pray at the same time. Because lots of people tell him about good things and bad things. He should not be confused haha. But I know one thing for sure. All the time he is with us!”
Robbins and Bayles let their voices soar to the heavens for this one.
The children are incredible singers. The blending, the richness and depth of varying tones, all add to the mystique that is a prayer. Prayers that rise up in different tongues, united in one voice.
