Baltimore’s Cardinal Shehan School Children’s Choir is comprised of a group of highly-gifted young children, who are using their talents to spread hope and positivity. Baltimore has been one of many cities which has faced great difficulty in the past few years, and this choir’s rendition of Andra Day’s ‘Rise Up,’ has sparked an overwhelming sense of optimism, exceeding beyond just their Baltimore community, and inspiring thousands across the nation.
Last month, Kenyatta Hardison, the group’s choir director spontaneously pulled out her cell phone and started recording the choir’s performance live on her Facebook page, hoping to share the children’s progress with their parents.
Without realizing it, her video, seen below, went viral, receiving over 3 million views and 83,000 shares since its debut.
The song’s powerful lyrics paired with the children’s angelic voices has touched people across the nation. Since its emergence, thousands of viewers have reached out to the choir group, expressing that the children’s purity and talents have given them hope during a personally difficult time.
