As a performer, things don’t always go as planned.
When this happens, you have no choice but to keep the show going and do your best. This cheer team has the music go out in the middle of their performance but keeps the routine going and manages to overcome the technical difficulty.
Nothing can stop this cheer team!
This Cheer Extreme team goes all out to win, even after the music stops and almost throws a hitch in their routine.
The Cougars are a cheer team from Raleigh, North Carolina with talent that is above the rest. Back in 2016, they competed in the National Cheerleader Associations Championship and proved that they’re the best.
At the beginning of the video, nine of the team members lined up in front while the rest of the team hung back waiting for their cue. As soon as the music started, the Cougars begin jumping and flipping through the air in brilliant fashion.
The whole team begins an acrobatic display that has the crowd in a trance.
A minute into the video, some of the team members begin swinging the others while they’re laying down flat. They swing them up onto their feet while spotters in groups hold them up.
The flyers show off their flexibility by stretching their legs up toward their heads and grabbing their ankles. That’s when the spotters spin them through the air and down into their arms.
When the Cougars form a triangle on the mat, they all jump into the air in unison while doing the splits.
This is the ultimate cheer routine. They leap into the air over and over again while doing the splits each time, followed by a huge backflip—and the crowd goes wild.
By this time, the music has cut out but that doesn’t stop the Cougars from continuing their high-flying routine. You can hear the audience cheering them on, and they don’t skip a beat. Their performance remains unaffected by the technical issues.
They fly through the air doing spinning flips as if they haven’t even noticed the music cut out!
At 2:30 into the video, the Cougars gather in the middle of the cheer mats and start throwing their flyers into the air while they complete multiple flips.
Toward the end of the performance, the crowd starts clapping loudly to give them a beat so that they can complete their stunning routine.
The grand finale is phenomenal, and the cheer team dances together with ecstatic energy.
Even without the music, the Cougars managed to nail every move while maintaining their complex routine. It’s no surprise this gifted group of girls won 1st place at the National Cheer Association Championship. Most people would react to the music stopping with a negative response, but not this team!
