People of all ages can be immensely talented. No matter how young or old they are. That is why World of Dance lets kids under 18 compete on the show!
World of Dance just returned for season two on NBC and after heating up our TV screens in 2017, the show looks like it will do the same thing this year.
The reality competition series is hosted by Jenna Dewan and judged by Jennifer Lopez (who is also an executive producer), Derek Hough, and Ne-Yo.
It is broken into four divisions: groups of 1 to 4 over the age of 18 compete in the Upper division, while teams of 4 or more over the age of 18 compete in the Team division, all dancers under the age of 18 previously competed in Junior, but now there are two Junior divisions: Junior for groups of 1 to 4, and Junior Team for groups over 4 members.
A team to look out for this season is 17-year-old dancing duo Charity Anderson and Andres Penate from Utah. In a sneak peek before this week’s episode, NBC released a video of Charity and Andres dancing to “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur.
Charity spoke with The Daily Herald and told them about her decision to try out for the show:
“I really wanted to try out for the show, but I felt like I needed to bring something that was kind of different than what they’ve seen, and they’ve seen soloists, and I didn’t see very many duets. A lot of people were telling me that our styles are kind of the same and our strengths are pretty similar, and so I got encouragement to ask (Andres) to be my duet partner.”
Before their World of Dance audition, Charity and Andres used to be ballroom dance partners until Andres switched to contemporary dance. The partners are known for their tricks and athleticism.
When you see their audition, you can understand where these tricks come into play. Andres is able to lift Charity like she weighs nothing and twirls her in the air like she is a doll!
NBC shared the video on Facebook and it has 1 million views in less than 12 hours, almost 2,000 shares, and over 3,000 likes.

I told Josh about this but I couldn’t remember the channel. These two are from Springville Utah, they dance for Charisma Dance Studio, they are Phenomenal!!!!!!! She did a dance solo at a comp we went to and it was one of the best I’d ever seen!!!
