Celine Dion is an incredible singer with a huge voice that has a ton of range!
In 2016, she showed off that range when she took on the Wheel of Musical Impressions on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
The Wheel of Musical impressions is a fun challenge where singers have to sing a song in the style of another famous performer. Some of the performers on the wheel include Mariah Carey, Cher, and David Bowie.
When the segment began, Celine Dion nervously hit the button to start the wheel of impressions. It ended up landing on Cher and “Frere Jacques.” Celine Dion jokingly said it wasn’t fair that she had to do a French song, but she still went for it.
Celine Dion put her heart and soul into the classic song. Jimmy Fallon couldn’t help but crack up as Celine Dion did her best Cher impressions.
Then, it was Jimmy Fallon’s turn to try doing some musical impressions. He landed on Michael Jackson and “One Dance.”
Jimmy Fallon did his best Michael Jackson impression, and Celine Dion did back-up vocals for him as he performed.
Then, it was Celine Dion’s turn again. She ended up landing on Rihanna and “Row, Row, Row Your Boat!”
Even though it was an unusual combination, Celine Dion still put her all into it. She even danced like Rihanna as she sang the song, and the audience couldn’t help but clap and cheer for her when they saw that!
Then, Jimmy Fallon went again. This time, he landed on Johnny Cash and “C is for Cookie.” Celine Dion took issue with that:
“No, C is for Celine,” she jokingly said.
Jimmy Fallon did his best impression of Johnny Cash singing the classic Sesame Street song, and the audience and Celine Dion both loved it.
For Celine Dion’s final performance of the night, she did an impression of Sia singing “Hush Little Baby.”
When Celine Dion saw who she landed on, she was very surprised, and she was a bit unsure if she could do the impression justice. But in the end, she nailed it! She sang “Hush, Little Baby” in the style of “Chandelier.” She even held a stuffed animal to her face to mimic Sia’s famous face-hiding hat.
The audience loved Celine Dion’s impressions, and the video of her singing also did well on YouTube. The video has been viewed over 37 million times! Many commenters talked about how great Celine Dion did at her impressions.
“She sounds more like Cher than Cher do [sic],” one commenter wrote.
Many other well-known singers have also tried doing musical impressions on Jimmy Fallon’s show.
Ariana Grande was one of the singers who tried her hand at musical impressions. In fact, she did an impression of Celine Dion herself.
Jamie Foxx also tried doing some musical impressions. He did a great impression of Jon Legend singing the Toys R’ Us kids theme song.
