When it comes to Christmas music, everyone has their favorite song and artist.

When the two are combined, it’s pure holiday magic. Very few people can perform a song like Celine Dion. A few years ago, she sang “The Christmas Song” live at Rockefeller Center. Her performances left the audience in awe.

It isn’t just her voice that makes her performance so magical; it’s the setting, as well. No place is as festive as Rockefeller Center at Christmastime. The stage was decorated with Christmas trees, poinsettias, candles, and Christmas lights. Even though it’s in the middle of New York City, something about the stage reminded everyone of being home for the holidays.

As usual, Celine was dressed to impress, as well. She wore an elegant strapless gown and sat gracefully on stage while singing. As she started to sing, the lights on the stage dimmed and everyone focused on the beautiful words of the song.

Celine has a way of delivering a song with powerful feelings.

She doesn’t just sing; she really gets everyone in the mood and opens their hearts to the holidays. She has recorded numerous Christmas songs, and many people consider her one of the best artists to sing these beautiful, classic songs.

Everyone at Rockefeller Center was impressed by her angelic voice and the beautiful lyrics. Of course, she sang several other holiday songs, as well, but it seemed like “The Christmas Song” was everyone’s favorite.

The Christmas Song” was written in 1945 by Bob Wells and Mel Tormé. It has been covered by numerous artists and featured in many television shows. You have probably sung it many times yourself.

If you aren’t familiar with the name of the song, you may know it by the lyrics.

“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

“Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

“They know that Santa’s on his way;
He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother’s child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.

“And so, I’m offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although it’s been said many times, many ways,
A very Merry Christmas to you.”

No other song can capture the magic and mood of Christmas.

Even if you have never smelled roasted chestnuts before, you can imagine what it’s like to be sitting near a fireplace while they are roasting. We all know what it’s like to have a cold nose when we come in out of the cold and how excited we were as kids to spy and see if we could catch Santa.

It’s just one of those songs that you can’t imagine making it through the holidays without hearing. It’s even performed by choirs and at school programs. You may have even heard it on your favorite Christmas movies.
