If you can remember all the way back to Season 4 of American Idol, you might recall Carrie Underwood, a young, perky country singer who won the 2005 show – and won thousands of hearts, too.

She has since become an internationally bestselling act in country music, and has won numerous Grammy, Country Music Association (CMA) and Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards.

As the years have passed since her American Idol win, Carrie has had two kids, Isaiah, 5, and one-year-old Jacob.

And it turns out music runs in her family, if her latest album is anything to go by!

Entitled “My Gift”, Carrie’s Christmas album is packed with beautiful solos and collaborations with some of the world’s top artists, including John Legend, who Carrie dueted with in a moving rendition of “Hallelujah”.

But the most emotional duet of the album has to be Carrie’s “Little Drummer Boy”, which she sang with her son, Isaiah.

In the song, Carrie and Isaiah take it in turns to sing the well-known verses of the infamous religious Christmas song – and Isaiah’s singing is heart-meltingly cute.

While he still has the slight lisp of a little kid, there’s no denying this boy can sing! And the way he sings “pa-wum-pa-pum-pum” is just too adorable for words.

The audio of the song has been shared to YouTube, and many commenters begged to see a “behind the scenes” of the production.

If that’s something you’d love to see, you can watch Carrie and her little guy perform the song together on Carrie’s Christmas special, “My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood” on HBO Max.

Carrie also shared her special recording with Isaiah on her Instagram account for her worldwide fans to see.

She wrote:

“So happy we captured the sweetest voice in this special moment in time. My own Little Drummer Boy will be a part of the #MyGift Christmas Special beginning this Thursday on @hbomax! #MyGiftHBOMax 🥁🎁✨.”

In the televised special, we get to watch Isaiah in the recording session with mom, wearing a smart collared shirt and sporting a super-cute professional attitude. He even tells his mom:

“I can do it as much times as you want.”

But of course, the little lad nailed it the first time – he certainly got his singing genes from his mama!

It’s safe to say that Isaiah has stolen a few of his mom’s fans in his butter-wouldn’t-melt performance.

One person commented:

“Am I the only one who has the biggest, goofiest smile on my face, with tears in my eyes at the same time, EVERY time I listen to this song? And I’m not willing to admit how many times I’ve listened to it! Isaiah, you gave us something so sweet and precious during some of the hardest times in people’s lives… I can’t even imagine how proud Carrie and Mike are of their little boy, singing for Jesus 🙏🏻”

“Is he her child ?? OMG… Imagine him 10 years latter…he must be a good singer like his mom…”

They’re right – with such an angelic voice aged 5, Isaiah certainly has a promising future ahead of him!
