Oklahoma born Carrie Underwood auditioned for American Idol in mid 2004. She won the season and from there has had an amazing career being a singer, songwriter, actress, author, entrepreneur, and record producer.
She’s not stopping. Carrie sings country, pop, and Christian songs. In fact, she does not shy away from showing her faith using her talent.
Here’s Carrie live from the 56th ACM Awards singing “My Savior“.
Posted a few days ago, this video now has over 2.8 million views. In a world reeling and recovering from so much drama, with people questioning if there really is a god, Carrie does not question. She sings and praises her Creator.
Joining Carrie is American gospel singer CeCe Winans.
From “Amazing Grace” to “Great is Thy Faithfulness“, Carrie and CeCe proclaim their Christian faith on a stage decorated and set up to look like a church. Stained glass, gospel singers, and all.
“My Savior” is made up of covers from traditional gospel hymns and is a companion to Carrie’s first ever Christmas album “My Gift.”
The viewers are loving it.
“Wow! What a joy to hear them sing these beautiful old hymns! Both ladies have such great voices!”
Says raydunakin.
Carrie, from 2004 to 2021 has not missed a beat.
Her unbelievable range and control allows her to hit any note, any time.
Carrie can sustain those notes and go through octaves you never knew existed. It’s freaky.
CeCe is no slouch either. Winans has been awarded 12 Grammy Awards and 23 GMA Dove Awards. She also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has 3.5 million record sales certified by RIAA, and 5 million estimated in total sales. Eight of her solo albums are top Christian music sellers.
She’s more than qualified to sing with Carrie.
Both singers exchange a stunning display of vocals, raising their voices to the heavens almost as if trying to pierce through the veil of the divine.
Carrie and CeCe play off each other, hitting sky high notes before Winans delivers her final blow.
As Cece exits, Carrie launches in to “How Great Thou Art“. And this is one version that will shatter the darkness of doubt and despair, replacing it with the light of hope. Underwood’s voice is unbelievable. Ridiculous.
Kelsey Baker commented,
“Can we talk about how well CeCe and Carrie bounced off one another? Powerhouse vocals from both. Seriously amazing.”
While another left a heartfelt note of gratitude saying,
“Thank you, Carrie, for not being afraid to sing about Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Especially on live television. God bless you!”
How about that final How Great Thou Aaaaaaaarrt by Carrie? Your jaw is on the floor.
What’s wonderful about Carrie is that in spite of her many accolades and her prodigious career, she never left her Christian roots. She uses her talent to show her faith and to bring others back to it. You could say that she is heaven’s instrument.
Listen and watch in wonder as Carrie and CeCe lift their voices to the highest heavens below!
