In a celebrity world littered with scandals, true friendships endure.
For the younger generations, they’ll never forget Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.
There are also odd but charming friendships like Martha Stewart and Snoop Dog.
Others are also born from sharing projects like F.R.I.E.N.D.S. stars Jennifer Anniston and Courtney Cox. Sometimes, it goes beyond that like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and the adorable sisterhood of Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore.
We all know Diaz and Barrymore from their roles in their hit film Charlie’s Angels.
However, their friendship pre-dated these roles as the two have been friends since they were teenagers. The two have since stayed with each other for more than three decades.
Barrymore was just 14 years old when she met Diaz. She was working at a coffee shop while Diaz was a junior model.
Their friendship only blossomed from there.
The two have since been involved in each other’s lives and were with each other through the most challenging times.
They celebrated milestones together, from getting into relationships, getting married, and having children to enjoying their lives post-Hollywood.
At one point, Diaz even admitted she held a high standard when it comes to men dating her best friend. Diaz maintained that she’d never lie to Barrymore if she doesn’t like who she was dating.
Barrymore also admitted that Diaz was one of the few people she’d share a bed with.
The 50 First Dates star said she was not a fan of co-sleeping. While she made an exception for her spouse, she also highlighted that she and Diaz slept beside each other from their shared home when they were roommates, and through a tent when they went to Patagonia.

At the time when they were living together, Barrymore also shared that it was the star from There’s Something About Mary who taught her how to cook.

“She’s always been the chef, she’s the best cook ever,” Barrymore said, as quoted by PEOPLE. “Some days we’d be living in a hotel and she’d teach me how to make pasta sauce.”
Despite their fame and success, the two shared that they were just like everyone else.
Like those who have nicknames for their sisters-for-life, Barrymore and Diaz have one for each other too.

They also shared how they bond over video calls where they send each other clips from their closets when they were getting dressed. They then chat, dance around, and share comments on looks.
The two were also close with their Angels co-star Lucy Liu.
When Barrymore launched her talk show, her very first guests were Diaz and Liu. The trio reunited last May 2019 to celebrate with Liu when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Barrymore held the women in high regard, especially when she introduced them as the people who have been a part of her heart for over two decades.

“The thing that I love about our friendship is that we have been there in all the big and important moments,” Barrymore said as quoted by PEOPLE, “And the reason we are such good friends is because it’s real and we go through real stuff with each other. It’s not a Hollywood fairytale.”
